imageIn preparation for Survivor 35: Heroes vs. Healers, vs. Hustlers, I decided to do some pre-show first impression blogs for the upcoming cast. There are obvious cast and tribe division spoilers (but no boot/elimination spoilers). Basically, judge them based on first impressions, already leaked Survivor videos of them (pre-show interviews, season 34 finale promo) or whatever criteria you wish.

Occupation: Physical Therapist/Professor
Education: Hampton University, Doctor of Physical Therapy, B.S. Health and Physical Education

Desi is the token pageant queen, having been named Miss Virginia in 2013 and competed in the Miss America pageant in 2014. She also was named Miss Virginia USA  2016. She was recruited onto Survivor via Facebook, where a casting department direct messaged her.  She appeared in the promo and thinks her cast members need to 'suck it up' when the conditions get tough. She also co-wrote the book 'Love Affair with my Hair: Why Black Women Cheat on Health'.

"I cannot complain," she says. "I think what gets to a lot of people is people are complaining about the conditions. Like, yeah, we're living outside — but we're also in Fiji. So, suck it up, baby." (THR, Josh Wigler)
