(+/-) Tyler Fredrickson ~ S30: Worlds Apart

17thDec 5, 2016 by BlueBarracuda
imageTyler was a castaway on Survivor: Worlds Apart and was part of the Masaya (White Collar) tribe originally. He initially formed an alliance with Carolyn and Joaquin. Carolyn attempted to strengthen her bond with him when she showed him her va- Idol so he’d stay loyal, but Tyler contemplated potentially voting her out instead. He joined the rest of his tribe in voting out So at the first Tribal and enjoyed safety after Masaya won the next three tribal immunities. A tribe swap occurred on Day 12 and only he and Joaquin were switched to the new Escameca tribe. Joaquin hit it off immediately with Rodney, so Tyler and him decided to work with him. Although they won their first immunity challenge as a new tribe, they lost when Mike threw the challenge. They decided to target Joe for being a potential threat after the merge, but the Blue Collars and Joe teamed up and voted out Joaquin.

Tyler made the merge on day 17. At this point, he teamed up once more with Carolyn and they found themselves in the middle between the Blue and No Collar tribes.  They ultimately sided with the Blue Collars and after an unexpected Idol play by Jenn, they systemically eliminated all the No Collars (aside from Will).  Before Joe got voted out, he found a clue to the Idol, which Tyler caught him, leaving Joe to share the clue with Tyler. On Day 24, Tyler finally ended Joe’s immunity run, resulting in his demise. He also went through Dan’s bag and found out his advantage. When it was just Mike and Shirin in the minority alliance, Mike hinted he was playing his Idol on Shirin and Shirin announced they were voting for Tyler, resulting in Tyler & Will to change their votes to Dan, just in case. This led to Dan confronting Tyler about this post-Tribal.  With Mike having a Hidden Immunity Idol, the majority had to turn on another, so Tyler teamed up again with Carolyn as well as Will to blindside Dan, but ultimately they voted for Mike. He played his Idol, and with Carolyn betraying Tyler, along with Sierra and Mike voting for him, he went home in a 3-0 vote and became the 5th member of the jury on day 32 and the 12th voted out of the game.

Prior to Survivor, Tyler was a place kicker for the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders, making him the sixth NFL-related castaway and out of those six, Tyler is tied with Gary Hogeboom with the highest placement. All the other castaways in Worlds Apart who won Individual Immunity won it multiple times (Joe, Carolyn, Mike) – Tyler was the only one who won it a single time. After his flop NFL career, he was a talent agent for Creative Artists Agency (CAA), whose clients include Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Hanks, George Clooney, David Beckham, Coca-Cola, Mattel,  Lady Gaga, Ryan Seacrest, and many many more although Tyler probably wasn't directly involved with any of them.

If you like the castaway, plus (+), if you don't, neg (-). Use your own criteria. Make sure you vote in all the polls on the blogs to the left. Let me know if you want to be tagged (or untagged).

He had to be sacrificed so Carolyn could rise!

He was a good player on paper, just really dull and not particularly interesting.

"not particularly interesting" is an overstatement to his personality

he's literally the blandest, most vanilla, snoozefest on television in general

SomebodyAwesome I wonder if he would've been more interesting had he not been Idoled out, since those ppl tend to be under-edited, but I don't think that would've helped. Ironic his job is a talent agent yet he is bland as fuck.
