John is a castaway from Survivor: Blood vs. Water and is the husband of Cook Island & Heroes vs. Villains hero Candice Woodcock-Cody, whom he appeared with on his season.
His game was rocked upside down right away when she was the first one from the returnees voted out during a first impression vote. She told him not to switch players with her, as she went to live on Redemption Island. Right away, he joined the majority alliance on Tadhana, led by Brad Culpepper, and consisting of Hayden, Caleb, and Ciera. Together, they voted out Marissa and Rachel. While at Redemption, Candice would keep surviving and giving John clues to the Hidden Idol, which he shared with Brad. Brad grew threatened of John and feared he'd not only find the Idol but team up with Candice over him at the merge. T
ogether, Brad and the rest of the guys blindsided John, sending him to Redemption Island where he'd reunite with his wife Candice, which he was initially okay with. Candice and Marissa were PISSED off though. Candice and John beat Marissa out in their Duel. They were shortly after joined by Brad, and sadly for John, he and Brad beat out Candice, sending her home, only for him and Laura to send home Brad. John managed to make it to the Final Duel along with both Lauras, but was unable to defeat Laura Morrett to return to the game, eliminating him on Day 19 (after being voted out originally day 8). He spent the majority of his game on Redemption.
In 2015, he was promoted to Major in the U.S. Army and he and Candice had a daughter born. He and Candice were a last minute replacement to the game, after R.C. Saint-Amour and her dad had to drop out. He was in consideration to be a candidate for the Survivor: Cambodia voting pool, but he was eventually cut.
