Bob is the winner of Survivor Gabon and started the game on the Kota tribe. He was shortly recruited to be the fifth member of the Onion alliance, consisting of himself, Marcus, Charlie, Corinne, and Jacquie. Kota was strong and stayed safe from tribal. When they lost, the alliance stuck together and took out outsider Paloma. A tribe swap led to the loss of Jacquie, when she went to Fang and was quickly voted out. Jacquie was soon replaced by Randy. During a tribe swap, Bob remained on Kota, and when they went to tribal, Susie flipped on him and Marcus, voting out his only ally on his tribe.
After Marcus’ blindside, Bob made the merge and his alliance quickly found themselves in the minority. His allies were voted out one by one. At Exile Island, he constructed a Fake Hidden Immunity Idol, which he used to leverage his safety. With Sugar’s suggestion, he used the Fake Idol to give to Randy, who was voted out as a result. Bob would go on to win three back-to-back-to-back individual immunity wins. With only him and Corinne left in his alli-ance, he made a second fake Idol in an attempt to keep her safe. It was futile and Corinne left. However, the other side were fractured when Ken joined Bob and Corinne in voting for Matty, resulting in Crystal and Ken being eliminated one by one. Unfortunately, his immunity run came to an end when Susie beat him at a card building competition. However, he convinced Sugar to tie the votes to give him a chance. He practiced building fires, and when Sugar did in fact tie the votes, Bob easily beat Matty in a fire-making challenge, securing his spot in the Final 3. With his former allies making up the majority of the jury, Bob easily defeated Sugar and narrowly beat Susie by 1 vote, earning his spot as the oldest winner of Survivor, ever, at age 57. He was also the Sprint Player of the Season. He was the high school teacher of Survivor Vanuatu castaway Julie Berry. He was originally an alternate for the season, but replaced future Nicaragua castaway Jimmy Johnson when he failed his medical exam.
