The twist of the season allows any player voted out every player to go Extinction Island, where they will stay to have 2 chances at getting back into the game; one at merge and one on Day 37. No duels. This means we could have all 20 castaways still in the game on Day 37.
This also means Joe can be voted out Day 3, stay on extinction island for 34 days, re-enter on Day 37, win the fire-making challenge at Final 4 and win in a jury vote because he bonded with the rest of the losers at Extinction Island while people were out playing the game.
