Although she and Ash broke up after graduation, wanting to avoid the strain of a long distance relationship, they reconnected again at a bar a few years later, almost instantly rekindling their relationship as if they had never been apart. Xander was one of the few people Ash kept in contact with when he was shipped off to war. Xander and he had always been the best of friends throughout their entire education career. One of the very few close friends of Lia that Ash liked was Callie, actually, in fact, Ash had a slight crush on her during high school, she was extremely popular and appeased to Ash's taste, he was such a high school boy, drooling over other girls. But he stayed true to Lia and never once made any moves on Callie. Now being back with all his old schoolmates, he's never been happier to be among the crowd that once praised him as king.
