TOP 5: What I miss in Tengaged

Mar 15, 2016 by ztalker2002
I have been in Tengaged since 2011 and I always been a silent (somehow irrelevant) Tengaged member. However, I have experience quite a variation of moments here in this website.

What I'm going to list are top 5 things on what I miss on Tengaged

5) Objective Criticisms

Tengaged is a platform designed for Big Brother / Survivor fans all over the world to play the game online. Of course, as fans, we have our opinions about the cast and contestants every season. However what I notice that instead of criticizing gameplay in the past seasons, we tend now to look at weirder factors.

Before, we criticized gameplay based on the effectiveness of it or our prediction for it. Now, it is apparent that most of us criticized casts for three things: 1) sass and fierce ; 2) race ; 3) drama ;

Case in point when a lot of Tengagers criticize Derrick for being "predictable" and yet, we forget to objectively see the bigger picture that he was playing everyone and was there for the long run.

That's just what I notice. I found it very challenging to find other Tengagers to objectively assess each contestant based on their merits and I miss that.

4) Discretion

No, I don't mean the discretion on who slept with whom. Not that discretion. I mean, taking personal problems into the blogs page. See, I don't mind if the problems we posts are about violence, abuse, cheating and among other stuff. But what I see now is petty. People calling out people for "betraying them", "Shops drama" and even, "this person do not gift"

I will not indulge myself to the shops drama and the gifting problems. What I like to focus on is people calling out others for betraying them. I would just like to highlight when you logged in the first time, did you not see the concept of the website? Big Brother, Survivor, Hunger Games (kill or be killed). The website is run on the notion that backstabbing should be normal. Shouldn't you be aware of that.

Main counter argument of these people would be : I thought he/she was my friend. He/she betrayed my trust

My counter-counter argument: Take me and KBeastW (Kent). I can confidently say we are good friends and we played a few games together. But when a bridge of betraying the other person has to be crossed to further ourselves into the game, I would understand it and he would to.

Simple logic, both of us wants to win and if one of us is hindering the other from winning, I know the betrayal will come (and it should, if either him or I would play it strategically). In the end, we would laugh about it. Actually, I would commend him, if he gets me evicted without me knowing.

Summary: If you were betrayed by a good friend, please talk to them privately. If their reason does not satisfy you, end your friendship. If you can't trust one another why play for each other right? You do not need to publicly announce to the site that you have a petty rivalry with your ex-friend.

3) Language

Tengager's 'colorful' vocabulary has evolved from being angry in a game TO normal conversation. For me personally, one of the main reasons the site has become so toxic is we allow this language to be our everyday expressions.

I find it appalling that we have this culture that insults seem to be the best way to get your point across. Again, I do not mind the color vocabulary in a pit of anger. But if it is petty, unwanted and unjustified, please just stop.

KBeastW : Of course and you should too. If it comes to it, I would be insulted if you didn't.
