Next round is the semi-finals and I only have four spots on the sleigh-ride to the finale. After this we will take our final 6 down to being our final 4!

Tyleror - Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley - I tried my hardest to try to enjoy this song. The vibe isn't it for me to dig at all. I've never really been a big fan of any Elvis music. Like idk the weird like breathy twang he does isn't appealing to me. Just not something I'd ever want to hear again.
Snails - River by Joni Mitchell - Coming in slowly with little bit of jingle bells was cute at the start. I wasn't a big fan of the choir inclusion in this song. It makes it feel a bit to churchy and gospely which is ironic to say I don't like when this whole thing is about Christmas but like.. it's just kind of eh. Like if it was just her it would of been so much better imo.
Turkeylover - If We Make it Through December by Phoebe Bridgers - I don't know that I know of any Phoebe Bridgers songs but feel like I've seen her name a lot. This song is such a good crafted story with a nice melody and flow. If you can make it through the cold and dark times there may just be warmth, sun, and better things ahead.
Voila - Say All You Want For Christmas by Nick Jonas ft Shania Twain - Nick Jonas doing a Christmas song? Country is one of my least favorite Genres. This felt like it was a rejected Blake Shelton song that someone randomly gave to Nick. It wasn't the worst thing ever but definitely not my style.
Jaxon - Dear Santa by Emlyn - God I love this song so much. Just the yearning and wishing to spend one more Christmas with someone you loved who isn't in your life anymore. I think this is my favorite song you've posted this entire competition thus far.
Useamint - In Like A Lion (Always Winter) by Relient K - Oh yeah I feel like this song is like a manifestation of my like seasonal depression (which is just like regular depression but instead it's just really cold out). I really enjoyed the tone and music it's gives that sad tone but in a relaxing way.
Symmetry888 - Blue Christmas by Kelly Clarkson - I mean it's definitely better than the Elvis version to me. I think there is just something about Elvis's voice that makes me feel like I'm stuck at a nursing home listening to their music selection. Anyways I still don't love the sing itself, Kelly can do a lot of good things but making me love Blue Christmas is not one of them.
Tbrown_47 โ Lonely Christmas by Now, Now โ I thought this one was pretty good. I feel like there was nothing in it that really made me greatly dislike anything about it. Its definitely the one I feel the most neutral about. I donโt extremely love it, but I donโt hate it by any means.
Like I said at the start of the week, there will be no safe zone this week. You are either on the nice list, or up for elimination on the naughty list.

Your song had just this air and essence about it that I really vibed with. I really want to look into this artist more because if all their songs are on this wavelength I think I might really dig their music. I will say though, this was my second favorite song of the week.
Yes, thats correct! Jaxon had my #1 spot when ranking them, but once the gift of punishment was factored in his song ended up placing #3 this week!

I feel like the late introduction into the competition was a real hindrance on your overall placement. There isn't as much to go on when looking at who I feel has the most overall potential in this game. I do appreciate your addition you wanting to play the game even though you know you had missed the first two rounds. I hope you find all the presents you wrote on your list underneath the tree this year!

This elimination was a heartbreaker no matter who I sent home. You've had some really good songs, and some songs I feel like I didn't care for at all. Voila this gift will be very advantageous this round as we are nearing the end of the game and everyone is at risk of elimination more than ever before! The gift of punishment gives the holder the power to not knock someone just one spot down in overall rankings, but TWO spots in overall ranking. This could easily ruin someones game as this round TWO people will be going home.
You heard that correctly, todays episode is a double elimination as the finale draws closer and closer. There will not be a safe zone. You are either in the top 4, or the bottom 4. The two people I deem to have performed the worst and have the least potential of winning that land in the bottom 4 this episode will be leaving the game.

Snails - Last Christmas by Kelly Clarkson - Oh she was giving like 20s jazz club vibes with this one. Kelly is so multifaceted and such a strong performer. I feel like some other singers tried to influence jazz elements into their versions of this song but this one was the only one that fully committed and it makes it so much better for that.
Turkeylover - Last Christmas by Carly Rae Jepsen - I feel like I revisit this version every year hoping to like it more than I do. She tries to go with this kind of jazz sound with the saxophone throughout but I don't fully love it. Like it's not bad by any means, just not anything too spectacular that makes it stand out from the crowd fully.
Jaxon - Last Christmas by Ashley Tisdale - The way the music kind of slowly rises and then when the beat goes hard after the intro makes this version feel so uplifting and powering. She isn't feeling that sad. She has so much angst and is yelling at this main. You'll never fool her again.
Tyleror - Last Christmas by Glee Cast - God watching this reminded me how infuriating Rachel was all the time. The vocals were good and it was nice to see the two different perspectives mashing into one making it uniquely a duet. Besides the duet this one didn't take huge creative liberty to change it up. Was a very mild choice to say.
Voila - Last Christmas by Cascada - SCREAMS. I adore everything about this version. It just has that classic cascada feeling while having a hint of jingling bells keeping it festive. When talking to some people someone brought up this version and decided to go with something else and I was bummed it wouldn't appear until you picked it!
Symmetry888 - Last Christmas by Miley Cyrus (live) - Okay like.. wheres the album Miley? Where's the offical release? I need her to do a Christmas rock album in the tone of plastic Hearts so bad. Plastic Christmas? I really loved her take here with making it her own but keeping the holiday spirit felt throughout it.
Tbrown_47 - Last Christmas by Tinashe - Oh this one was so good. It was a bit sexier and sultry sounding. It's like she is trying to seduce the main who gave her heart away only to show him what he is missing. There is just a smooth feeling and charm she has that makes me really like this.
SirNiceGuy - Last Christmas by Allie X - Yeah no this one wasn't it for me. It just doesn't really work for me at all. I feel like the beat is better than the vocal. She feels too subdued and gets drowned out by the actual music. I respect that it's kind of a different take and isn't just a christmasy jingle but I wouldn't go searching out this one again
Useamint - Last Christmas by Jimmy Eat World - I guess it was alright. I feel like the pacing felt a bit odd to me? The rushed part ups in the chorus and it's kind of jarring to listen to. Like there is taking it and making it into your own sound and then there is just changing up tempo and sound which kind of ruins the original integrity of the song. Also like why is it so much longer than every other version? That extra minute and for what?

symmetry888 chose the gift swap which just MIGHT come in handy this round. Jaxon โ Wrap Me Up by Jhene Aiko โ Iโm shocked by this submission from you. This song doesnโt exactly give me something youโd ever listen to. Maybe you wouldnโt and you are just gamebotting? Who knows. Anyways idk this is definitely the most sensual song posted this round. Its just kind of okay. It works for the round but like.. meh.
Turkeylover โ All I want for xxxmas by Slayyyter โ I feel like I need like a couple shots to really enjoy this song. This song was very overwhelming at times but like.. yeah it fits the theme definitely. I just donโt know that Iโd ever revisit this song out of all of the Slayyyter songs Iโve ever listened to. Like it was giving Slut Pop vibes and not in a good way.
coolKat -Sexy Santa by Kiki โ So I donโt know how to feel about this song lol. Like Iโm a mix of enjoying and laughing at the songโฆ but then I find myself cringing? I feel like the singers arenโt fully committing to the emotion of the words I guess? I donโt think Iโll be revisiting it but I enjoyed it the one time and thatโs enough for that.
Useamint โ Not Tonight Santa by Girls Aloud โ Oh my god I really loved this. I feel like through all the song contestants Iโve been in and my own hosting experience over time I become more and more a Girls Aloud stan. I will say I feel like there wasnโt a huge variety in this song and feel like the verses were super short compared to the super long and repetitive chorus so I just kind of was happy that it ended when it did instead of trying to drag the song out another minute or so for length.
Symmetry888 โ Rockin Around the Pole by the Mean Girls on Broadway Cast โ I feel while maybe not exactly โsubtleโ I feel like this song is such a good and modern replacement in the musical for the traditional โjingle bell rockโ. Itโs a bit more lighthearted and feels more fun than quite a bit of the other songs which makes it kind of stand out from the crowd.
Voila โ Naughty List by Liam Payne ft Dixie DโAmelio โ Uhm I guess Iโll say I never noticed how closely Liam Payne looks like Freddie Benson from iCarly. I donโt know.. this feels like its definitely for a certain type of audience. Like nothing is fundamentally wrong with the song I guess but Iโm just not connecting to it. How will this fall? Iโm not to sure myself yet.
SirNiceGuy โ Wit It This Christmas by Ariana Grande โ I glad your seasonal music library has expanded with this competition. Mine def has as well! This song kind of feels like a generic pop song that was rejected from a main album so it was workshopped and retooled to fit on a Christmas album personally. The lyrics didnโt fully connect or hit hard for me at any point.
Tyleror โ Rated Xmas by Millionaires โ Omg this song was so entertaining. This would be a total like.. guilty pleasure listen. It kind of gives me like 3OH!3 vibes in the production of the song itself. I donโt know if Iโd ever say the song is likeโฆ โgoodโ. Like its not going to be nominated for a grammy or anything but like.. it doesn't need to be. Its for the peoples its for and I feel like I just might be one of those people.
Tbrown_47 โ Christmas Tree by Lady Gaga โ Oh the way Iโve never heard this until now but like I donโt know how. I thought this was a newer song at first with her and Tony Bennett throughout the video. I was like wow she is really going for her early music sound in this song. I then looked it up and found out it was released in 2008 which makes way more sense. Like do I understand why this song isnโt one of the mainstream songs on the Christmas radios each year? Yes. But its still a jolly good time.
Snails โ I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus by Jessica Simpson โ This song I kind of expected it showing up when I created the theme so safe to say it was the safe choice to go. It works well enough to get you by this round but showing up late in this competition Iโm expecting to get absolutely wowed by your next choice! That being said for the song itself it does keep that kind of sexy and sultry vibe with Mrs. Simpsons voice and likeโฆ kind of the most superior version of this song that exists.
