I don't know what else I could have done... Aug 17, 2011
I always try to write reflections after I finish each game which is nice after a good game...but when I do poorly...it is less fun...but I still need to do it.

It's been a long time since I've joined a fasting. So I was bored and it was late and I joined one. Everyone else in the fasting was either a white level or higher with a really bad record. I made a fast alliance with someone...but I must have pissed someone else off. Because I was nominated 3 out of the first 4 nominations. and the only one that I wasn't nominated during was a tie and I got lucky.

I don't know what else I could have done in that game. I did everything right. But there was a group of 5 people that voted for me every single time. I don't know who they are...but I did something to make myself a target to them...

The most boring rookies ever.... Aug 16, 2011
Wow. That was the most boring game I have ever played on tengaged. The strategy was boring, and the conversation was boring. It wasn't that people just didn't have time to be online either. They would be online and just not talk.

Anyway, it was nice because there were no premades in this game. So the alliance making at the beggining of the game was hectic. I found myslef making final 2 plans with about 5  people. I knew that it would blow up in my face at the end and it did. With a group that didn't talk a lot I had to actually try hard to not get HoH but I did. I know that the people I nominated weren't happy with me. I was backed into a corner and didn't have a choice. I probably deserved my 4th place. Good luck to the final 2. They both deserve to be there.

Rookies. Aug 10, 2011
Ok so I was really excited to play my first rookies! I enjoyed slow castings because I met soo many great people and got to bond with them, however the game play was simply non-existent. I couldn't wait to get into rookies where I could make alliances, form strategies, and use my social game to get to the end!

I was told that premades would dominate the game...but that simply wasn't true...both premades seems to crumble and back stab eachother. It kind of gave me as an individual an advantage that the premades targeted eachother instead of me. By the time it was my turn to be nominated I had formed some bonds and some alliances.

The biggest thing that I learned is that there are 2 kinds of people who play rookies:
1. The kind of person that doesn't care what alliance they started with, they will do what they have to to make it to the final 2. These people are much more like myself and much easier to manipulate.
2. The kind that will be loyal to thier original alliances no matter what happens. They may make small alliances on the side just to secure themselves, but when push comes to shove they will never vote to evict a former ally even if it is in thier personal best interest.

Again, I made a lot of friends in this game. I'm really appreciative of both their patience and kindness..

Redemption! Aug 7, 2011
After 2 consecutive disappointing finishes in fastings...I finally got my redemption.

I made sure to be one of the first to join this game so that I can discuss with the other players early about making alliances and that payed off.

I found myself immediately alligned with 2 people. SexGod and Masta_Manipulata. We then added two people to our alliance: Minka and Allidoiswin. Sex and Masta are both TV stars who dressed thier avitars down so that they appear to be noobs unless you went on thier page. Minka and Allidoiswin however were both yellows like myself.

I made a final 3 promise to SexGod and Masta early in the game and fully intended on comming with them...untill I got the feeling that they would take 1st and 2nd and leave me in 3rd. So, I decided that noobs need to stick together and I made a different final 3 agreement with Minka and All.

After the final 5 we evicted Minka, then SexGod and they were less than happy with me. Which I understand...I lied to them. They were angry and wanted revenge so they sent me some hate mail messages and negged all my blog posts.

I later got served my lesson when Allidoiswin decided to negg my posts at the end so that I would look bad to the algorithim and I earned 3rd place anyways.

It really doesn't matter because I'm proud of my 3rd place and my blind sighting of 2 guys who really didn't deserve to win anyway...

Slow casting... Aug 7, 2011
It's fun to contrast fastings with week-long castings.
Fastings are fun because they go by very fast and you can play a lot of them very easily and meet a lot of different people.
Castings are nice because you have a long time to chat and get to know people.

I really value how much I bonded with the people in my first casting that just finished. (Well...at least as much as you can bond with strangers over the internet...)

I really enjoy being new to this site because I'm very underestimated. When the game began, others in the game told me that finals would be too hard to make because of the experience and activeness of everyone in the casting. I told them that I could do it and I did.

The thing I don't like about slow castings though is that there is minimal strategy involved. How well you do in the game centers around how much you spam on the public comments and wait for keys to appear. It was frustrating because those who had more time to sit on thier computers all day are the ones who did better. Strategy and alliances meant almost nothing.

I'm really looking forward to playing my first rookies. It should be an active group and involve more work than simply sitting on my computer spamming the forum.

The best day of my life. Finale of Survivor: Heroes Vs Villians Aug 6, 2011
imageI’ve been a fan of Survivor since it began.  I was excited for Heroes Vs Villains. It was the 20th season, 10th anniversary, and had 20 of the most notorious survivors EVER.

I’m from Alabama…never expecting to meet anyone famous…let alone the contestants of my favorite TV show…

I was in NY with my family last May for a family member’s graduation from college. We decided to spend a few days before the graduation in NYC since we have some family who live there.

I’m walking through the city with my parents like normal tourists on a Saturday afternoon when we pass the David Letterman Theater.

I see a security guard wearing a badge with a Survivor: HvV logo on it. I comment to my mom, “Hey, that man back there had a Survivor logo on his badge…”
I thought to myself, “It’s the CBS Theater and Survivor is CBS show…nothing strange.”
I continue to my mom, “Yeah, this has been a great season! I’m excited for the finale tomorrow ni…”
I stopped…the most amazing realization dawned on me…next thing I knew I screamed out.
“IT’S HAPPENING HERE! LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY!”

This couldn’t be happening…I was standing less than 10 feet away from where the finale of the greatest season of the greatest television show was going to take place in just over 24 hours…all of the best Survivors are in the city that I am currently in…holy crap.

I ran back to the security guard and asked him, “Is the finale of Survivor happening in here tomorrow night?”
“Yes” he replied (like it was no big deal), “that’s what they are setting up for.”
“How can I get in?”
“You can’t”
“But there has to be a way”
“I’m sorry; it’s a small theater you won’t be able to get in.”
“Watch me.”

The rest of the night I couldn’t stop thinking about how close I was to the finale of the 20th season of Survivor.

The morning of the finale I went to the CBS store next door to the theater and bought a bunch of Survivor buffs (the merged buffs from seasons 1-5)

Then I walked constantly around the block trying to start a conversation with someone who looks like they could get me in…or at least with a casting producer who I can charm with my personality and make them cast me…

I saw/met a lot of the survivor contestants that day…I was star struck…
But even better I met a ton of other crazy survivor fans…in my hometown…I’m one of very few fans and I’m by far the most dedicated of them. Here, I met other people that I could have in-depth conversations about the show with (favorite moments/contestants, strategy, etc.)

We spent the rest of the night until the live portion of the finale begin chanting at the security guards "LET US IN!" It was fruitless but it didn't matter because I was having so much fun.

Best day ever.
