Why do people even try to compete

Jan 27, 2016 by chrisw756
Like i've said this before but i'm going to reiterate it again, because of how the shop game works there is a very small chance of anyone new being able to knock out any of the existing shop owners.

Because there is a max price (1000T$) and the rule that older shops move on in a tie, any new shop is doomed to failure. JGoodies, Wumblebee and Instagram have accumulated enough T$ that any situation where they are close to getting knocked out can be rectified by them buying their own stock, causing a tie and their shop to move on in place of the new owner's shop.

Also, the reason that 'cliques' (I wouldn't use that word but anyway) have formed is because of the longevity of these shops. Also the fact that the shop owners have made FRIENDS?

If people wanted newer shops to have a chance in the shops game, the only way this could happen is if Randomize changed the rules so the 1000T$ max was abolished (it sounds bad but it would actually cause prices to go DOWN instead of up), but seeing as we don't even have moderators I would not hold my breathe.

I definetely agree with you. If I am not successful I definetely think someone should compete next week. With a few consecutive gifting weeks they may not be able to buy out their own stock. Honestly you shouldnt be able to buy from your shop at all
