At the end of the day, Kaycee's comp was a luck comp whereas Sam's wasn't...

So it's more unfair that Kaycee is getting punished than Sam, so it makes it fair that Sam's punishment is worse than Kaycee's.

well, it definitely is really extreme and messes her game but I think they figured whoever got the robot punishment is probably gonna win the first advantage and that advantage probably/hopefully makes up for how brutal the punishment is.

If I recall, Hamsterwatch said that Kaycees pinwheel has only gone off twice which makes it even more unfair

However, neither Sam or kaycee had a say in what comp they participated in so honestly it's unfair that both get a punishment but one isn't as bad as the other

To be fair Sam's punishment is way harsher but Sam's competition was way fairer to win than Kaycee's which was literally a crap shoot
