Jay's family has worked at a nearby wine distillery for generations. The distillery is famous for making a popular and expensive wine in the capital. Getting a job here is tough, and high standards are expected from everyone that works there. Jay is currently two years off being allowed to work there, however, has been training since he was 5. The distillery is a popular tourist attraction for Capitol citizens, and District 11 is the second most popular vacation destination, District 4 currently being in the lead, however, there really isn't much competition in Panem, as District 6 is the only other District that remotely has a tourist industry
When Jay's name was called, he silently yet politely walked up to the stage, nodding at the people and Peacekeepers he passed on his way up. He spoke in what many call a "British" accent, something which his family seems to have possessed despite living for years in the District, and the accent is only found in the capital and most remote parts of District 4. In his speech, Jay addressed each of his family members, before asking a friend of his to keep all schoolwork for him if he ever made it back, as he didn't want to fall behind
Amber's known to many as the "Beggar" girl on the street. She is notorious around the same distillery Jay's family works at, often asking capitol citizens for money. Half the time, they spit in the face, but other times, she's showered in coins. It depends which kind of citizen comes to visit. Security often has a hard time keeping her off the property
It's believed she was born out of an affair between the District's mayor and the president's personal security guard after the president visited the District in the summer before the 79th Hunger Games, however, this rumor has not been confirmed, but the mayor very nearly lost his job. Because no parent could be traced, Amber was sent to an orphanage, which acted as more like a prison in District 11, with the children often not being allowed to leave, and if anyone disrespected one of the workers there, rumor has it they became an Avox overnight. Amber escaped this orphanage when she was 13, but the orphanage chose not to pursue her, knowing it would be a waste of their resources, however, it has been speculated that they caused her reaping for the games
Cole and Pick are twins from the Seam of District 12, a notoriously poor area, and one of the poorest in the entirety of Panem. The pair was extremely malnourished on arrival to the captiol, with extremely brittle bones as part of a medical condition. The pair also needed some advanced medical treatment to even allow them to participate in the parade, however, are currently set to make their appearance with the other 22 tributes
