For this challenge, I took some tips and ideas from people on Tengaged. After some self-deliberation, I found one that works!
Challenge: Songs Of The Dead
This challenge will ask you to send in a submission of a song by an artist that is no longer here with us. Simple and to the point. I will say to be weary on submitting certain songs as they have been done before (Back To Black, Beat It, Smooth Criminal to name a few). So if you accidentally submit a song already done, I will PM you and have you submit again.
Three of you will shine and will have access to the semi finals, but only one can win it. The two losers will have to earn their spot.
I submitted a song that's not only from someone who is dead, but a song that relates to her cause of death. Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning after suffering from addiction in 2011. I was in the family room when my mom told me. In terms of lyrics, this one stands out: "I don't ever wanna drink again. I just need a friend." Hope that you enjoy!
