I’ll start by saying I am not a stranger to understanding that this game is nothing more than a popularity contest at the end of the day. I know my standing here. Regardless, I love the concept of stars and I enjoy playing as socially as I can to see how far I can make it. Here’s my monologue:
This is my 4th stars, 3rd time making payouts, 2nd time making finals, 1st time going completely unnominated. I knew that as far as popularity goes, I stood no chance against people like Alex150498AmandaBynesPavanelibbfanuk_rebornIslandman22 etc. It is what it is. I came to enjoy the game and do what I always do: everything I can to get as far as I can. Which is what everyone does, right?
My biggest achievement this game was making big moves whilst never becoming the one to blame at DC. I sat back and watched the chaos unfold day after day letting people blame the wrong people for sets that went through. Stealth was my greatest asset in this game.
10 minutes into the game Tester and Harehere were on my tail and I had completely expected to go up for 16th. I managed to escape that nomination, and I was not a true nom set for the rest of the game. (Harehere tried to push me and petra for 14th but nobody treated this as a real set).
So, after managing to put up and outlast my two biggest fans for 16th and for 12th, and after solidifying myself with every single member of the cast at one point or another, I did what I always do: fed people what they needed to hear. Everyone has a generalized tactic going into stars: depend on popularity, play aggressive, play middle-ground quiet, or depend on not being a popularity threat to make it far. Gaslight the popularity threats into thinking you stan them and see yourself as beneath them, gaslight the aggressive players into thinking you’re just as mad as them when something doesn’t go their way, gaslight the middle-ground players into thinking you don’t see them as one-sided, and gaslight those who think they are nobodies into thinking they are not on anybody’s radar. This is the exact strategy I used with every single person in this entire cast, and it gave me finals unnominated. 23/26 of the nominations in this game I correctly submitted. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 noms that I missed; I knew I was missing. I was not going to nominate babygirl1991 but she went up for 11th anyway.
I’ve learned in stars you must stick with one to two people and completely depend on them. It’s how I made finals with Corey1 and Ricardogv (even though my true f3 was with Florina, love you ricardo <3) and it’s how I made finals this time around, too.
Other than my raffle ticket win stars game that unfortunately landed me in a game with a mahogany premade (no shade to miss clara j) that I could not navigate well, I feel as though my stars stats are strong. My very first stars I made final 5 as the last person unnominated and got 5th by a 0.2% vote. My second stars I made final 3 having only been nominated for 13th. The only other eviction poll I lost was for 12th in that stars ticket game against KrisStory by 0.4%. If it's gameplay you’re trying to recognize, I have it.
I recognize that this game is approached from many different perspectives and everyone who made finals (and even those who got 4th, 5th, and 6th, etc.) got here in their own way and is just as respectable of gameplay. I would greatly appreciate the win but vote where you see fit! Best of luck Drew & Pav <3
