This competition is called “𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼’𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲”. Here’s how it works.
I’ve done this competition for a few seasons now, and at this point it’s basically become a tradition. Allow me to explain it.
I have tried to do music taste games in the past, but I’ve always lost interest after the first or second round. So the only way I really ever finish a music taste competition is if it’s a part of my BB game!
So for this competition, all you have to do is comment a song that you think will align with my music taste!
Of course, it would feel a little rigged if this was completely just my judgement alone. That’s why I’ve invited 2 special guest judges!

You will each submit one song, and all 3 of us will rank them all based on our personal preferences! The goal of this competition is to submit a song that you think all 3 of us will like!
I have asked Jenah and Rocky to give a statement regarding what kind of music they like, and they had this to say in response.
Jenah: I'm into more of the indie-pop genre, if you get me enchanted by your heavenly voice, you right up my alley! I do appreciate some of the other genres but indie-pop is my main along with some COUNTRY! Just be unique and don't give the same popular songs!
Rocky: To be honest I'm very flexible in what kind of music genres I like listening to, so pretty much anything that has a good beat and meaning! BUT, I love slow and sad songs that actually make sense. James Arthur has my heart so that should give some sort of idea of what I'm into :)
and as for me… I’m a big fan of alternative music! I also like a little bit of pop… but overall I think I just like songs that stand out from others. I like songs that have sounds and rhythms you won’t find anywhere else. I LOVE it when songs like that have catchy beats and get stuck it my head! It also helps when those songs are emotional and/or have deep inner meanings. That’s basically what I like!
So, take that information as you will, and then submit a song that you think will blow all 3 of us out of the water! We’ll all rank your submissions based off of each of our personal preferences, and then I will award points to you based off of how high your song was ranked for by each judge. The player who collectively has the most points will become the new Head of Household!

Jenah: Yeah, this was RIGHT UP MY ALLEY! I know it got super popular on TikTok recently but I've always been a fan of this song and it's such a wonderful song that is SUPER CATCHY!! ONCE THAT CHORUS HITS? MY GOODNESS! IT SLAPS SOOO HARD!!!!
Rocky: Boom! I enjoyed the beginning of the song, it was very enchanting and liked the imagery definitely. This song will forever always be from TikTok, so I don’t find it overplayed at all! *claps*
Nano: This was a catchy song! I think I may have heard it once or twice a while ago, but listening to it fully was a pleasant experience! I was snapping and foot tapping along with the beat for most of the song, and I loved the vocals during the chorus! I don’t know if this would be a song I’d listen to on a regular basis, but it was a solid submission and I enjoyed it!
Julian’s Song:
No Rain by Blind Melon
Jenah: Ooooh I loved the country feel to this song. It's very easy to listen to and very groovy at the same time. I found myself swaying and enjoying this. It was a nice sweet song that's well written.
Rocky: I appreciate the effort behind this song as I kind of liked the voice of the lead singer of course. Not really my vibe or caught my attention as much as I would have liked to.
Nano: This song was okay… I think I’ve heard it before, but it’s never really been a song I’ve remembered and it was never a song I cared for. I’ve never been a fan of country music, and there’s a very small list of country songs that I enjoy listening to. Sadly this song doesn’t go on that list… it’s fine, but forgettable in my opinion.
Chris’s Song:
Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens
Jenah: This song is so sad and depressing and definitely something I like normally listening too. But, this song just had me a little bored as it was very monotone and one note.
Rocky: Rather interesting choice, it gives me very mellow and solitude vibes. I love sad and slow songs, but this felt short a bit for me. Maybe Ryan or Jenah will like this instead? Meh
Nano: Wow… you came to play. This was a very sorrowful song… and that’s why I loved it. There’s something about the depressing music mixed with the techno-vocals that really made this song emotional… I can see myself listening to this when I feel depressed or when I feel the need to just chill out. Great submission!
Brandon’s Song:
Santa Fe by DEVOTED ft. Billionaire
Jenah: This was a pleasant surprise! Such a lovely and soothing voice that I truly enjoyed listening to and the chorus was super catchy and enjoyable. A really great listen!!
Rocky: It was okay! I really liked the instrumental part of it but the vocals not so much, not trying to be super strict but based of off 1 minute I can tell what’s good or not :/
Nano: This was an enjoyable song. It used a lot of interesting sounds that made it stand out, and I definitely appreciate that. I was also foot tapping a little bit. I don’t know if this would be a song I would recommend to a friend, but I know I can definitely listen to it when I just wanna vibe out. Lol
Ben’s Song:
Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple
Jenah: Um, this is just not for me. I couldn't even hear what he was saying at some parts, really just not for me, I'm sorry.
Rocky: My name’s Rocky, but this type of rock is not IT for me at all. Felt like a very messy performance to me, sorry! With so much history in music games, this is like way on the bottom for me.
Nano: I gotta be honest here, this was one of the most bland rock songs I’ve ever heard. The only instruments used were the generic rock instruments combined with bland guitar riffs that didn’t sound special at all, there were no fun vocals… I literally felt no joy or fun while listening to this. And the worst part is that it’s 6 WHOLE MINUTES LONG. I literally wouldn’t ever be able to tell this song apart from any other generic rock song.
Maria’s Song:
Love Not Loving You by Foxes
Jenah: A very interesting video LOL! But, this song is actually quite good and around 0:53 is when I really started LOVING THIS SONG and FULLY INVESTED IN IT! It had my attention since that part and kept it!
Rocky: This is interesting, based on what I’ve seen so far for this round … this is definitely better than half of the other songs. It gave me fun pop vibes that I’m definitely digging. Good job!
Nano: This song featured a lot of unusual sounds in it, and I liked that. It also had a little bit of funk to it, which I also appreciated. However, I don’t think I was fully sold on the chorus. It’s a fine song, but not one I’d get stuck in my head and not one I’d want to listen to again.
Gabs’s Song:

Jenah: I had NO CLUE WHAT SHE WAS SAYING BUT I WAS VIBING TO IT! This sounds like such a sexy song and makes me want to TWERK!! I just LOVED everything about this and was grooving along and feeling my oats!
Rocky: Uhm … I was very confused throughout this performance and I’m very undecided on how to feel. Beat wise this was interesting and I’d have to say that towards the end I was bopping to it surprisingly! Another one that’s on my tops cause I was actually disappointed on song choices from others :/
Nano: Uhh… first of all, I wanna say that I was completely thrown off from the song by all the explicit sexualizing imagery throughout the music video. I didn’t like it one bit. As for the song itself… it was sung in a language I don’t understand so I couldn’t tell what was being said in the lyrics, and the song itself was okay I guess… but I’m confused why it completely changed for the last minute of the song. Overall, this song just feels like a confusing mess that was only made to make it’s viewers horny. I didn’t like what I saw in the video and it’s gonna take me a while to recover from those images. I’m straight btw
Cody’s Song:
Scared of Love by Juice WRLD
Jenah: This song is actually SUPER RELATABLE. Because I am SUPER scared to love somebody just to get heartbroken. I enjoyed this and was feeling the lyrics, it truly spoke to me.
Rocky: JUICE WRLD!!! Gone way too soon and although I’m not fond of rap most times, he was truly a talent and heavily relatable. The amount of people he touched and helped with his songs was just extraordinary. Good song choice!
Nano: I can always get into some Juice WRLD! His music is usually a portal into a depressing yet comfortable dimension, and this song was no different. My only criticism is that it’s a little short, and it isn’t as recognizable as some of his other songs. Overall though, it was a pleasant song to listen to and given the right mood, I would maybe listen to it again sometime.
Honey’s Song:
Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
Jenah: I absolutely hate Bruno Mars, his over confidence is WAY TOO MUCH! The definition of extra BUT I can NOT deny how GOOD & CATCHY this song is and that's why it's getting a good ranking for me. If this was based on Bruno personality alone, it would be DEAD LAST!
Rocky: MEHHHHHH! Such an overplayed song, it’s okay but I don’t wanna hear this ever AGAIN. I listened for 30 seconds and I was like okay NEXT!
Nano: It’s been a while since I’ve heard this song. When it first came out years ago, I was still a kid. I remember at first loving it, but eventually I got tired of hearing it all the time. After that I never really listen to it again. But listening to it again takes me back. I’m not really a fan of Bruno Mars’ music, but this is one of his songs that I like. I enjoy the funky elements of the song as well as the interesting vocals. Overall, I’m glad I got to listen to this again.
Devyn’s Song:
Bad Dreams by Faouzia
Jenah: LMFAO whoever chose this song, good on you! Rocky & I are absolutely obsessed with Faouzia so excellent song choice. This was absolutely fantastic! Faouzia's voice is a breath of fresh air and this song is so haunting and gorgeous, just an all round HIT!
Rocky: NOOOOOOO NOOOOOO NOOOOOOOO YOU DID NOT JUST DO THAT! MY WINNER! I’m seriously obsessed with Faouzia and especially this song. The way I heavily relate to this song, it’s literally on my playlist because Faouzia is HEAVEN SENT! Her talent is way out of this world and in my eyes YOU LITERALLY SMASHED IT! PERFECTION! *Standing ovation* Kind of wish this was a performance instead of a lyric video.
Nano: Very smart move submitting a Faouzia song… as judges for several singing group games on Tengaged, Jenah and Rocky will most likely love this. If this was solely a vocal competition, Faouzia would win no doubt. Since I’m judging the song overall… I must admit that I liked it. I kinda wish it had more than just a piano for music though… but obviously the vocals are off the charts and it was a very entertaining song to listen to.
