It’s finally time for the 106th hunger games to begin.
24 tributes stand before us today... but eventually, only one of them will still be alive.
And a bunch of them are about to die in the bloodbath.

The tributes have been placed on respective pedestals in this year’s cornucopia, which is a clear circle of sand packed with supplies and weapons. Behind all the pedestals are a bunch of buildings made of metal pieces, and the doors are just pieces of cloth.
All of the tributes are waiting for the timer to hit 0.
10, 9, 8...
Kahn looks like he can’t wait to jump in the arena, and he desperately wants the games to start.
7, 6, 5...
Jobino is trying to find Alex.
4...
Lindsay is looking frightfully at the 23 other kids in front of her.
3...
Kahn is growing impatient. He is desperately wanting to start killing people so he can win as fast as possible.
2...
Jesus doesn’t look scared at all. He feels confident he’ll get through the bloodbath without any problems.
1...
Kahn waits in anticipation of the timer hitting 0. As the timer hits 1, he prepares to step off of his pedestal. However, his foot touched the ground too early, and he sets off a land mine.
BOOM!

The other tributes are motionless as they try to make sense of the explosion that just commenced. None of them realize that the timer has hit 0, and they all can start running for weapons.
Eventually, the other careers begin running to get their supplies, and the other tributes then follow.
Lawrence grabs the first supply bag he sees, and begins running. Brimmy sees he’s the first person to exit cornucopia, and he starts following him.
Jesus grabs a sword and immediately looks for a career to attack. The first one he sees is Xavier, so he runs to him.
Jesus: Just stand still, and I’ll make it quick! Try to fight, and you’ll suffer!
Jesus takes a swing, but Xavier easily dodges it. He then sticks a spear into Jesus’s neck without any effort. Jesus just stares in shock as he bleeds out.
BOOM!
Xavier then looks for his fellow careers.
Lyn witnessed Jesus’s gruesome death, and is now freaking out. She is screaming off of the top of her lungs.
Tritan notices Lyn screaming, sneaks up behind, and snaps her neck.
BOOM!
Tritan looks for his fellow careers.
Snow meets up with Veronica and Aurora, so she decides to show off for them. She sees Alex in the distance, and begins running over to kill him.
Alex watches in terror as Snow runs toward him holding a large machete, getting ready to cut him in half. Until...
BOOM!
Snow suddenly falls to the ground after an arrow was shot right into her skull.
Jobina then runs toward Alex, holding a bow and arrow, and the two run off before getting into any more trouble.
Veronica and Aurora can only stare in shock.
Meanwhile, not getting involved with any of the careers, Laura is gathering supplies, when suddenly she takes a knife off of someone’s backpack without noticing.
It’s Sorrow’s.
Thinking she’s trying to perform a sneak attack, Sorrow takes back her knife and sticks it in Laura’s head.
BOOM!
Sorrow then runs off into the wasteland.
Meanwhile, Lana is just casually looking at all the chaos, and decides to get involved in it.
She decides she wants to take out someone who seems like a threat, and chooses the cousins from District 9.
Thinking she can easily defeat both of them, she runs over to them with a sword in her hands and takes a swing, but Daria is quick to react and chops her hand off with an axe she collected.
Lana stares in shock at her severed hand before Daria chops her head off completely.
BOOM!
Finstock and Daria then gather all their supplies and run off into the wasteland.
After seeing Lana get destroyed, the rest of the careers realized they’re missing Oren, who is just staring off into space in the middle of the arena. They grab him, and the five of them run off.
Lindsay has nervously waited for the careers to leave, hoping they wouldn’t notice her. She then takes the opportunity to grab supplies. She grabs a sickle, but at the same time, Donnrirja grabs one as well. Donnrirja tries to hit Lindsay to get her to let go, but all that does is frighten her. In fact, Lindsay is frightened so much she is able to grab the sickle completely, and then uses it to slash Donnrirja’s throat.
It doesn’t take long for her to bleed out.
BOOM!
Freaking out over the fact that she just killed another person, Lindsay runs off with her supplies and weapon.
Now seeing that there aren’t really any more “dangerous” tributes in the area, the remaining tributes, which consist of Raven, Letty, Oat, and Parvati, all grab the supplies they need without fighting each other. Raven unknowingly runs with his bag open, and all of his supplies fall out.
-A Hot Night-
After the bloodbath, nothing else interesting really happens throughout the day. Everyone who is still alive is pretty much on their own, except for the relative duos and the rest of the career pack. No one runs into each other for the entire day.
Before the day is out, the Capitol decides to insert it’s first big event of the games to keep things interesting.
It’s now late at night, and the career pack is growing tired.
They have been walking away from the cornucopia all day, in hopes of finding other tributes to kill.
Aurora: God, even at night it’s hot out here!
Xavier: Yeah... our water supply isn’t gonna last very long with this kind of weather.
Oren: Well... it can’t get any worse can it?
At that moment, a sandstorm begins.
Tritan: Great... now we gotta walk with our eyes closed.
Veronica: Guys... we just need to take shelter. It shouldn’t be as hot indoors as it is outdoors, we should have shade!
Aurora: It’s night! Everything is in the shade! And it’s still so goddamn hot out here!
Xavier: Wait... what is that?
Xavier can see something strange in the distance.
Oren: Oh my god... I see it too!
The whole career pack can see it now. It’s a giant lake full of fresh water, seemingly untouched by the sandstorm.
Xavier: I’m so thirsty!
Tritan: But... we still have some water left!
Oren: Not enough... I’m going over there!
Veronica: Guys wait! Let’s at least wait until the sandstorm is over!
Xavier and Oren do not listen. They both begin waking over to the glistening lake.
Suddenly, the other careers see a giant explosion of sparks, and then they see Xavier and Oren flying in separate directions.
BOOM!
BOOM!
The other careers stare in complete shock.
Tritan: What the hell just happened?!
Aurora: I think... that was the arena border.
Tritan: Wow... they placed a lake right outside the arena border? The capitol is so mean, man...
Veronica: No... they didn’t. Look.
Tritan and Aurora then see the lake slowly disappearing.
Aurora: Whaaaa...
Tritan: Was that...?
Veronica: A mirage. But not a natural one. One placed by the capitol to screw with us.
Tritan has no words right now.
Veronica: We should probably move away from the border. We need to wait this sandstorm out first, though.
The three remaining careers take shelter.
Veronica: From here on out, if something looks too good to be true, it probably is. We need to be careful.
The three then settle down for the night, seeing as the sandstorm isn’t going away anytime soon.
Later that night, the fallen tributes are projected in the sky.

15 tributes have survived the first day inside of the arena! Tomorrow, more of them will end up dead. Which of them will still be alive when the day ends?
