I heard this line and at first believed it to be just a simple, classic Carti throwaway line, like "If I'm a bitch then I'm the baddest bitch" or I'm on the top of the building", but knowing Jordan the way he is, I feel like there's deeper meaning to this line? I can't quite put my finger on the deeper meaning behind the bar however. I personally, being a Vamp myself, thought it could be deciphered with ease, however after spending days re-reading the line over and over again, I still struggle to wrap my mind around it. I know it sounds like a funny line, and the obvious "meaning" behind it would quite literally be that Jordan is bathing himself and scrubbing his genitalia, but other Carti songs have lines like this that actually have a deep emotional and/or spiritual meaning to Jordan. I typically feel the same way Jordan feels, and tend to relate greatly with a large majority of his bars. When I first became a Vamp, I was a mere child, back in 2014, and have grown to love him like a brother. The connection we, and I am sure many of you, feel with him, is insurmountable. This is why I ask Tengaged of their assistance to decipher the deeper meaning behind this line from the standout track "Mad Man".
My theories to this point:
By "tub" Jordan actually means any claustrophobic area, such as a space capsule, or a cupboard, and the second part of the bar actually means he's cleaning his child Onyx. I don't believe he would refer to his own genitalia as "lil", as it would demean his own physicality, thus the reference to his son, who is only 1 year old, leading to the bar making sense
Another theory I have, is that Jordan is hopping into a tub of Holy Water, and actually is cleaning his genitalia. Carti has a history of demonic signs and has strayed away from God, and is washing his genitalia in order to repent for the occasions he proved his infidelity to Iggy. I like this theory the most as, since Jordan has turned his back on the lord, I have done the same, however this bar gives me hope that he had second thoughts about this choice, thus inspiring me to step back into the light.
The final theory, and least likely (in my opinion) I had was that Jordan is showing the world that deep down he feels as though he is a just putting on a show, similar to one performing at a dunk tank. Each show provides joy to his fans, but inside he feels worse and worse after each one, similar to how one in a dunk tank does not enjoy getting dunked repeatedly, but it provides joy to their spectators. Another reason why I felt this is a plausible theory is due to the fact that with a dunk tank, throwers are required to hit their target with a ball, which is shown in the line as the balls are being cleansed, much like the balls in a dunk tank are cleansed at the end of the day. Also for a dunk tank performer, the target must be hit, like how if Jordan has a hit song, he must perform more, leading him deeper into his (possible) depression.
Again, these are only theories, which is why I was hoping other Tengagers may have a better theory of their own, or maybe even Jordan himself could provide insight on this line.
