Last year I ranked every movie I saw in theaters and this year I'm doing it again!
**IMPORTANT REMINDER: In order for a movie to qualify for this countdown I need to have seen it in theaters (not Netflix, Redbox, etc) between 1/1/18 and 12/31/18. This means that even tho a movie may have been released in 2017, as long as I saw it in theaters in 2018 it'll qualify**
I feel like this is going to be an unpopular placement for this movie but allow me to explain. Firstly, I think that this movie got a lot of unnecessary hate due to the fact that it was a Sony Marvel movie (long backstory to that). I had 3 ssues with this film. For starters, it was PG 13 which does not fit the Venom character at all as the comics are very violent and gruesome. The second issue was the fact that Venom was the stand-alone character without Spider-Man (another long story) and because there was no Spider-man the backstory of Venom was changed around. Last was the dialogue because good god was it corny sometimes even by the standards of Action/Superhero movies.
However, I don't think that the movie was AWFUL. To me, it just fell short of what it should have been!
The post credit scene was dope tho
Have you seen Venom?
What'd you think?
LIST SO FAR:
#19: The Possession Of Hannah Grace
#18: Holmes & Watson
#17: Super Troopers 2
#16: Insidious: The Last Key
#15: Life Of The Party
#14: Venom
Venom exceed my expectations, as it was honestly pretty fun and entertaining, but the script was pretty fucking awful LMAO. Either way, like I said, it was at least fun to watch. I love Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams, so w/o them, my opinion probably would have been a lot more aggressive lol
