18 years ago on 9/11, I was 13 years old and in Grade 9 at Raymond Junior High School. I wasn't even in the States when 9/11 happened, but my mom was born in the States and her family is mostly still there. I now have dual citizenship, which I acquired in college, and it hurts to think of the nearly 3,000 who died on that terrible day, but I still do it because we need to remember them.
For all of you who are old enough to remember where you were and what were you doing, do you care to share those memories? I was in 9th grade and I was getting ready for school when my mom's friend called her and told her to turn on the TV. My mom turned on the TV and she asked what movie was playing, but her friend told her that it wasn't a movie.
What were the rest of you doing and how did you feel when you found out about what was happening?
