Reed is a castaway from Survivor: San Juan Del Sur and appeared alongside his boyfriend Josh Canfield.
He was originally on the Hunahpu tribe, which was largely dominant in the early portion of the game. Reed found himself aligned with the other men in his tribe, only visiting tribal when Drew threw the challenge. The men were disorganized, leading to Drew’s blindside in a 5-2-1-1 vote. During a tribe swap on Day 11, Reed stayed on Hunahpu but was reunited with Josh, which upset Jeremy, who thought his ally Reed would flip to Josh’s side. Due to the lack of rice on the Hunahpu tribe, Reed pleaded with Jeff Probst for more rice – Jeff agreed, but took all of their other rewards. Reed managed to make the merge only visiting Tribal once.
On Day 16 he merged. Josh managed to convince Reed to flip (confirming Jeremy’s fears), as well as Jon & Jaclyn to blindside Jeremy, however, that plan was ruined when Julie quit. But Jaclyn convinced Jon to flip back and blindside Josh in a 6-5 vote, pissing off Reed. Angry, Reed expected to follow Josh out the game and dug through Keith’s bag and found instructions to the Idol, exposing this to his tribe mates. Fortunately, Jeremy was sent home instead. After that, he joined in the plan to blindside Jon, and Reed told Keith that the majority wanted to split the vote between him and Wes. Both Keith and Jon played their Idols, however, and Wes went home. Reed angered Missy by calling Baylor a brat and the pair targeted Reed, while Reed targeted Missy. He was unable to convince Jon and Jaclyn to vote with them, and he was unanimously voted out over Missy, becoming the 10th voted out and the 4th member of the jury. As a jury member, he voted for Jaclyn, knowing that Natalie was likely to win, to ensure that Missy got 3rd place.
After Survivor, he and Josh became engaged. However, they broke up in March 2016. Both of them applied to Survivor individually, without the producers knowing they were boyfriends. He was the first unanimous vote on San Juan Del Sur and the first Survivor castaway voted out on Day 29, which happened to occur the night before Josh’s 33rd birthday. Josh’s dad used to be the mayor of Minnesota capitol city, St. Paul. Before and after Survivor, Reed and Josh appeared in many Broadway productions. Reed has appeared in Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, Wicked, and The Addams Family. Most recently this year, he was an original performer in the Broadway production of Cirque du Soleil Paramour.
