imageKelly (or Purple Kelly/Kelly Purple) was a castaway on Survivor: Nicaragua and was a member of the La Flor (younger person) tribe. Despite minimal screen time, Kelly was part of the majority alliance alongside Brenda, Chase, Sash, and NaOnka. She is remembered mostly for quitting the game on day 28 moments after NaOnka, becoming the 5th member of the jury.

•        Placement:  8th out of 20 | Challenge Wins: 6 | Votes Against: 0 | Days Lasted: 28
•        In order to avoid confusion with Kelly Bruno, Kelly was called Purple Kelly due to the purple highlights in her blonde hair
•        By Day 6, she joined Brenda’s alliance and voted with them to oust Shannon
•        When a tribe switch occurred, Kelly remained on La Flor along with Brenda and Sash and joined them in voting out the other Kelly and Jill
•        She made the merge on Day 19, becoming a member of Libertad and joined her alliance in eliminating Alina and Marty
•        She was left out of the plan to blindside Brenda and was the only one who didn’t vote against her, voting instead for Benry
•        Despite being in a great position in the game, by Day 28, the heavy storms made camp miserable, which took a serious toll on the young Kelly, who didn’t think she could take it anymore
•        When she lost the Day 28 reward challenge, both she and NaOnka announced their intentions to quit the game to Jeff, but he took them to wait until Tribal Council and seriously think about their decision
•        Many of her tribe mates pleaded with her not to quit the game and to finish what she started, but to no avail, and at Tribal, after NaOnka quit, Kelly also formally quit, becoming the 5th member of the jury; she joined NaOnka in giving her vote to Fabio to win, putting him over the edge to win the game
•        She was the first Survivor contestant born in the 1990s and was the youngest contestant on Nicaragua
•        She holds the record for latest first confessional in the show, getting her first confessional on episode 7 (the producers intentionally under-edited her as revenge for her quitting, which they couldn't do for NaOnka, the season's villain)
•        She is the youngest person ever to quit Survivor and due to her and NaOnka quitting, the producers and Jeff changed the rules, adding possible penalties to quitting
•        Despite barely appearing on the show, 4 years after appearing on Survivor in 2014, she won the Hottest Female award, for the Reality Awards
•        Now when people are under-edited or given an invisible edit, some in the Survivor community call it a “purple edit” in her honor.

Lots of people might hate on her for quitting, but I really did like her, she was a sweet girl who was playing a solid under the radar coattail riding game and she could've easily gone to the end (but not win). I think she was too young at the time to play and wasn't ready- I think if they saved her for a future season, she would've done better mentally. I don't think she deserves hate for quitting though- it's not like people hate on Dana Lambert for quitting or John Rocker's girlfriend for quitting.
