America has to have school shooting drills. The worst thing Europe has are fire drills. So again, the simple conclusion is that school shootings are a big deal there, you don't just "joke" nor "troll" about it without consequences. It really is THAT SIMPLE.

We’ve gotten calls before about threats to my kids school. It’s not a fun thing to go through when it’s the middle of the school day and they’re on lockdown because someone thought it would be funny to make a joke. As a parent it’s probably the most terrifying thing I’ve dealt with.
Is this the same thing as a lockdown drill or is it something new?
When I was in first grade there were some guys who robbed a bank nearby and it ended in a police chase but because it was close enough to the school, we got put on lockdown.
Those plans are good to have in situations like such lol, but again I have no idea if these are the same drills you're talking about or if there's an exclusive drill for shootings now
mastropola the drill is they barricade the door with all the desks and hide in the back of the classroom as close as they can get to each other out of site of all windows. I don’t know what your lockdown drill was
mastropola yeah it’s terrifying when my daughter told me about it my heart dropped she was in 4th grade and she had to take her desk and stack it up on the other desks to practice for some psycho walking in trying to kill them. This world is full of evil.
how things can change in like 8 years b/c i never had shooting drills i mean i guess we had intruder drill type things where the teachers would shut off the lights and wed all hide in a corner but that was pretty much it :O
well last time i taught we had fire drills, tornado drills and lockdown drills and honestly the only one that made sense to me was the fire drill
the other ones needed a major make over
like for the tornado drill....i had to take my first graders down a hall and into the office
which is fine except my line had to cross another line of students going down another hall
like? wtf?? can u picture that? what a mess!!! but no one would listen to me smh
i've been out of teaching a while now tho so im curious to see how it's changed
