Finals Blog

22 woeisme, Sep 29, 2018

Finals, finals, finals; and oh what a crazy ride it's been. I'll start off by explaining how I avoided the block for 4th, then give a summary of why you should consider voting me for the win. At final 5, I knew that I had to make a pact with one of the safe people that if I survived I'd be guaranteed to be safe at final 4. So I approached Adele with a deal. I basically say how in reality neither of us should trust the other, but if we vote for Paul and Andalu and mail Alex to do the same, we'll both be guaranteed finals if I stay. We both reassured each other non-stop that we were in. So since I was semi-confident in how Adele would vote, I pm andalu at the last minute telling him Paul and Adele are after us. This was to make sure he didn't lock me in. I went with the real plan and locked in Paul and Andalu, and I pulled it off.
Now, I'm going to talk about my game as a whole. From day 1, I had my back against the wall. I was called out as a threat due to the number of support blogs I was tagged in. I was nearly up every round but wasn't up until 13th then again until 8th. I always voted in my best interest and never gave up even though the odds were stacked against me. I didn't have the luxury of relying on a pre-game or friends, because nearly everyone in this cast was a stranger to me. I adapted and made bonds with people like Nathan and Alan. I lost them both at one point, but I continued to try and navigate to the end by bonding with adele. My game wasn't perfect by any means. This being my first stars, I navigated how I needed to and learned all the ropes of the game throughout. Whenever I needed strategic advice, I'd turn to my friends who were stars winners such as Tyler93 and Natepresnell. I did try to grab the game by the horns and make "big moves" but they were usually halted when someone would go running their mouth.
The thing I think about stars that gets overlooked the most is how you shouldn't take the public for granted. No matter how strategic you think your game is or how good you think you played, the public really sees next to none of that. So what helped me survive polls is never taken the public for granted. Whether it was individually mailing each and every person who saved me and saying a simple thanks, or giving everyone who saved me a personal tribute. I wanted it to be known that every save I was genuinely thankful for, because I wouldn't still be in the game without them. The cast only decides whether you're on the block, but the PUBLIC decides your fate. If the story of a first-time stars player, who's a longtime veteran appeals to you, then I urge you to please click my button! Thank you for any votes this round and for all of the support throughout the best. It's been one hell of a ride. Best of luck Paul and Adele! #WFTW
