The Amazing Race S29 Power Rankings (Top 8)

0 PowerRankings101, Apr 20, 2017

Becca and Floyd were almost eliminated for losing their passport. Scary stuff, but they have an Express Pass. Meanwhile, we lose huge threats Seth and Olive, and continue to see Matt and Redmond be the villains of this season. This week, we get two episodes. So which TWO teams will be eliminated? Or will we see a non-elimination leg? Let’s see.
8. Shamir & Sara (#TeamSandSExpress)- Shamir wasn’t as irritating in this episode, but they haven’t redeemed themselves in my book. They’re one of the weaker teams, and it’s safe to say they’re going home one of these two episodes that we’re seeing tonight.
7. Brooke & Scott (#TeamBrookeandScott)- Of all the teams left, these two seem to have the least amount of chemistry. I think there are some big issues with their partnership, and I could see them crashing and burning and being one of the two teams eliminated tonight. It’ll be good for us all.
6. Becca & Floyd (#TeamFun)- While they are near the bottom for losing a passport and checking in to the mat late, they’re a fan favorite team, and they have an express pass. So I don’t think we’ll see them go home, no matter how bad a position they’re in.
5. London & Logan (#TeamLoLo)- When having to choose TWO teams to go home, you have to look at the overall race experience, and they haven’t cracked 5th place. So that’s where they’ll stay right now.
4. Tara & Joey (#TeamMom&Dad)- Tara and Joey were strong last week! I still know the least amount about them, but I’ll assume they’re safe for the time being.
3. Vanck & Ashton (#TeamVanck&Ashton)- They’ve been doing really really well recently, but their U-turn didn’t get out their biggest threats, so they’re going to have a major target on their back the entire time from the Boys. It’s going to be a battle to watch this season, so I’m putting them right next to Matt and Redmond on this ranking because it’s probably going to be a season long show down.
2. Matt & Redmond (#TheBoys)- These guys are antagonists of the season, but not even a speed bump could knock them out. For that, they’re probably in it for the long haul only to lose in the end. So that’s why I have them right there at 2nd place.
1. Liz & Michael (#TeamLizandMike)- I love these two, they’re so joyous and kind, and they can actually win legs of the race! Two of them! Sure, let’s put them at top.
While I’d like to see the Boys go home, their rivalry with Ashton and Vanck is quite entertaining to watch. Liz and Mike have been most consistent, and Tara and Joey have been doing very well too. Everyone else is fair game for a possible two eliminations this week. One of these legs COULD be a non-elimination leg, but I’ll predict two teams going home just in case. And I’ll predict the two teams that probably have the least chemistry (if you don’t count the surprisingly strong Vanck and Ashton).
PREDICTIONS:

The Amazing Race S29 Power Rankings (Top 9)

0 PowerRankings101, Apr 12, 2017

Now that we have seen the teams for two episodes, we can get a better feel of how these teams will fare further down the line. We saw some teams plummet from bottom to top, and some from top to bottom. So how do they all rank? Let’s see!
9. Shamir & Sara (#TeamSandSExpress)- Shamir picking Sara because she was a hot girl spelled trouble from the beginning. Complaining about his junk took it to the next level. We need them off our screens ASAP…let me rephrase, we need Shamir off our screens ASAP.
8. London & Logan (#TeamLoLo)- Statistically speaking, they have an average of 8th place, which is the lowest of anyone. They could be the next ones out, but with this double u-turn, they could squeak by another week. But 8th place is where they’ve been, and that’s where they’ll stay.
7. Matt & Redmond (#TheBoys)- These guys were favorites of mine, and while I still like them, I don’t really love what they did with Vanck and Ashton. They think they’re villains, but it just comes across as arrogant and cocky. With a double u-turn coming up, I’m almost certain they’ll be targeted, and could even see themselves going home this week. They’re a strong team, so they could overcome it, but there will be hurdles.
6. Tara & Joey (#TeamMom&Dad)- Tara and Joey, like London and Logan, have been doing fine, but have somehow remained towards the bottom. They’re not terrible, but not incredibly impressive. Then again, with a double u-turn, they should stay out of the clear and survive this week.
5.  Brooke & Scott (#TeamBrookeandScott)- Scott has to get some credit for taking the risks he did to pull off that challenge, but we can’t forget that entire first half of the episode where Brooke was stirring up hell for them both. They’re a dysfunctional team, but they still remain in the game, and pull it off by the end of the night. Further down the road, problems will arise, but for now, they’re okay. They just need an attitude adjustment.
4. Seth & Olive (#TeamAmerica)- They’ve been consistent at the top, never falling below 4th place. The only reason I’m keeping them at the middle is because there’s a u-turn, and it could very well be them if the teams are smart. But, they haven’t made any enemies, so they could remain in the clear.
3. Becca & Floyd (#TeamFun)- These kids are great, and are so much fun to watch every week. They took a bit of a dip in their placement, but it shouldn’t be enough to knock them out. They aren’t the biggest threats in terms of a u-turn, so they’re looking good for the future. I love these two.
2. Vanck & Ashton (#TeamVanck&Ashton)- I thought these guys would be eliminated, and I’m very pleasantly surprised that they finished in 2nd this leg! That’s where they’ll remain here. They now probably have more fans because they have a rivalry with Redmond and Matt, and with this U-turn coming up, nobody is going after Vanck and..
