This song was originally sung by Joey Ryan and Sara Bareillas but was reworked when Joey joined Kenneth to form The Milk Carton Kids.
This song is my all time favourite song of theirs and I haven’t gotten to use it yet as I’ve been saving it haha and so here’s a little sprinkle of what the song is like but in a remix form! This is also my favourite remix of theirs to date.
You aren't ready for what Ronnie has for you. This is "The Drug in Me is Reimagined", the reimagined version of one of their most popular hits from their first album, The Drug in Me is You. The original was released in 2011 and this version was made as a dedication to his fans who's stuck around with him and the band over the years. He wanted to make something special and really strip down the song to get to the emotions of the lyrics, something that wasn't well noticed in the original version. It also showcases Ronnie's vocal ability. There's lots of little snipets in the video too for fans to catch as little homeages to the past.
This is an alternate version of the song that I submitted for the induction ceremony.
This is the song which she rewrote the lyrics for the "Golden Music Awards" as she was the host of the ceremony this year.
While the original version talks about how much she loves her partner even though the life is as mundane as it can be, here, she sings about how much she loves music and she will keep singing even if there is no audience left.
Also, she won the award for "Best Female Vocalist" this year.
The original uses guitar as the main instrument, however, this version is pretty much stripped down as only piano is involved.
She always changed the lyrics so that the first word of the first eight lines will be "I'm the host for Golden Music Awards.", and the last four line will be 'See you at the Golden Music Awards."
