I think it's awesome how a lot of Tengagers are pitching in to help out with different charities... NoelSarah, Blogs, BioDork and Popeye are a few of the people on tengaged who have done some fund raising for charities and have posted on here so that people on Tengaged can help and it's great to see that people are willing to donate something for a good cause and put their tengaged related issues and personality conflicts aside for a greater purpose.
I know that popeye has done this for the last couple of years and I have donated a few times in the past... I also have participated in the Relay for Life back in high school a few times and I am already on a team for one this year as well.
It is a really great event to help raise money for ACS for cancer research and possible treaments/cures for the future. They also have a Survivors walk, a candle ceremony to honor survivors and to remember our friends and family who have passed due to this horrible disease, and they have different games, food and other things you can purchase where a good amount of the money is given back to the ACS.
If you are able to donate anything to this cause it would be greatly appreciated, every $1 counts!!
I truly believe that with enough money to spend on research that a cure for cancer will be discovered in my lifetime and that would mean that our loved ones would not have to die before their time. Cancer is a tough disease to get through and the treatments being used often are very difficult :(
When I get some extra money I'll donate. I'm moving to a new apartment this month, so I won't have any extra cash :( Cancer is close to my heart, my mother is a survivor of uterine cancer and breast cancer, and my father currently has stage IV (terminal) esophageal cancer :(
