BB23's Best Player

Jan 16, 2022 by survivornerd
This is all based on the hypothetical question of - if these players were to hypothetically play 100 times, who would win the most often? This is all subjective (yet I'm trying to be objective), so if you disagree I'm excited to hear why in the comments.

ROUND 1

Xavier v. Big D - This is pretty cut and dry, I don't really see Big D winning a lot if at all, so Xavier advances.

Azah v. Kyland - I think Azah wins in very rare circumstances, whereas Kyland I think always will get to the endgame. He may upset juries, but ultimately I think he wins more often than Azah, so Kyland advances.

Hannah v. Tiffany - Both are some of the best players in this cast, but I just think Tiffany, despite probably being a bigger target than Hannah every time, has a better social game and probably wins every jury vote she's in, so Tiffany advances.

Alyssa v. Claire - I think Claire has a good big picture strategy for Big Brother. Alyssa can probably win a below average to average amount, but she is way too passive of a player for me to be confident in her, so Claire advances.

Sarah Beth v. Derek X - DX can win comps and probably wins a lot of jury votes, but he's a naive guy. I think IRL if he returns he has a great shot, but I'm basing this off of how they played BB23. (IDK if that makes sense, but like in a vacuum how often does DX 1.0 win versus how often SB 1.0 wins.) Sarah Beth was an instrumental part of the majority alliance the first few weeks and will do anything to win, so Sarah Beth advances.

Britini v. Christian - I have a hard time seeing Britini getting to the end with her social game. She definitely wins a lot of jury votes if she can get there, but I don't have much faith in her to do so. Christian I think makes himself a huge target a lot, but if he can get in with the right alliance that can steamroll a la The Committee, then he would pick up a few wins. Christian advances.

Whitney v. Brent - Brent just doesn't really have the social awareness for a game like Big Brother. Whitney doesn't have much of a social game, but I could see her getting dragged to the end and winning as a result of a bitter jury, so Whitney advances.

Frenchie v. Travis - I've always been curious if Frenchie would have had a better game if he hadn't won the first HoH. He was absolutely not built for that much responsibility that early on in the game. He actually showed glimmers of shrewdness through the craziness. However, I just think Big Brother is not his game at all, and Travis, although he is a clear recruit, seems to have a decent head on his shoulders and he seems like he can win some competitions, so Travis advances.

ROUND 2

Xavier v. Kyland - This may be a controversial pick, because I think Kyland's social game is much better in the house, and he's much better at getting people to do the things that he wants them to do, and he probably goes further than Xavier most of the time. However, my issue with Kyland is his jury management. He talks to people like he just took an Intro to Communications class, it's just patronizing and not personable at all. So for that reason, I think Xavier advances because Xavier probably wins most if not every jury vote he's in.

Tiffany v. Claire - This is another similar case to the one above, except swap jury votes being the issue for being a big target. I think Tiffany plays in such a way to where she's a big target a few rounds too early. You saw it with the Cookout, and in exit interviews Claire said that she intended on cutting Tiffany in the endgame. Claire, however, would not be a big threat until the very, very, very end. She plays the most successful Big Brother strategy, sit around until the endgame then evict all of the threats. However, I may want to take a good active player as opposed to a good passive player. Agggh. I am going to... pick Tiffany to advance.

Sarah Beth v. Christian - This one is pretty easy to me, I think Christian wins a lot and makes himself a threat way too early most of the times that he plays, so I'm picking Sarah Beth to advance.

Whitney v. Travis - This one is kind of close, two kind of passive players. I think Travis had more potential than what we saw, and he was kind of a victim of a totally illogical unpredictable HoH. We at least saw him form one strong bond with DX (although I guess that didn't help him lol), where as Whitney didn't really have a tight bond with anyone from what I remember. Travis advances.

ROUND 3

Xavier v. Tiffany - Well, this is going to upset people. As I said before, Tiffany is more gifted in round-to-round strategic thinking and she has a better social game. However, Big Brother, particularly modern Big Brother, is so much more about your big picture strategy. And even if I think Tiffany makes it further than X most of the time, I just think Tiffany always lands around 3rd-6th, and while Xavier may get pegged as an early threat sometimes, I just trust him to win out if he gets to that endgame. So for that reason, I have to pick Xavier to advance.

Sarah Beth v. Travis - Apart of me worries that because Sarah Beth plays a cutthroat game and she's a woman that juries will be biased against her, it's clear to me that she'd win more often than Travis.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Xavier v. Sarah Beth - Again, even if I think Xavier probably gets like 8th most of the time, he has a good big picture strategy. Keep quiet, keep your bonds, win comps when you have to. I honestly think in terms of awareness of what's going on in the house and pulling off big plays, Xavier falls below a LOT of people on this cast. But that's not what is always important in Big Brother now. Look at Kaycee. Look at Steve. And although SB is a clever player who can make moves happen (and ultimately, like a lot of other players who have been eliminated over X, the type of player that people want to watch), I just think Xavier wins more, making him the best player of BB23.

What do you think? Where am I wrong? I will say I took into account what modern Big Brother is like for these picks. If some of these people played 15 years ago, some of these picks would be way different.

Comments

I think BB23 is complicated because the main alliance stuck together for reasons other than strategy, I don’t think Xavier was the most skilled but he was in the best position within the Cookout

In fact I don’t think we have enough info to figure out who was the most skilled because of how the game played out

suit I 100% agree, that’s what made this so hard. Players like SB, Claire, & DX didn’t really have a chance ever. And even when the CO got done to 6, there were still people playing for the cause over their own games. Obviously no problem with what mission they were carrying out, just hard to figure out who the best player is
