We reached the summit (or the very bottom) of this list!
Notes:
- All songs sent in TSC between 189 to 225 are eligible
- This is based on my personal opinion. Please do not take any offense from what I think of. Strictly my own thoughts
- Contrary to some weird belief, I don't believe that my music taste is better than anyone else's. This list is for you all to have some fun and laugh at possible comments I make
- If you want more stinkers, there will be a dishonorable mentions list just for you to entertain yourself even more
3. Nate Ruess - AhHa
Sent in TSC206 by #smi9127, finished 23rd with 22 points.
Nate Ruess is definitely a talented man, and his career with Fun. was honestly pretty great for the good quality of the music they released. The idea to go solo didn't seem stupid on paper. The concept of this song probably also worked well on paper, but in practice, this turned out to be a yelling, Freddie Mercury-wannabe, annoying production with Ruess suddenly screaming, suddenly almost whispering. The cacophony here is unbearable - almost every part of the song does not go well together, the harmony (or its lack), the backing track, and his style of singing, which is honestly off-putting here. Let's hope he reunites with his band, who are releasing boring, but acceptable releases to bring back the quality they used to have.
2. Bella Thorne - TTYLXOX
Sent in TSC222 by #Insanity, finished 17th with 12 points.
The cringeworthy title of the song is honestly the smallest problem with this whole thing. I understand that Disney usually doesn't provide us with the best music on Earth, but how did they get it so wrong with Bella Thorne? The stupidity of the message of this song is something I expected, but not to the extent they did it with her. How ridiculous are the lyrics? And then there's the production team, which seemed not to care about the single at all. What a lazy backing track, together with the most basic melody. And that was still not enough to get #1 on this list, because the competition in 2015 got pretty much destroyed by that one particular entry that was bound to reach the top of this list. That being said...
1. Gnesa - Wilder
Sent in TSC211 by #CharlieBibi, finished 26th with 7 points.
It was pretty obvious that this song was going to end up on this list, the question was where would it finish. As you can see, Gnesa's "Wilder" takes the honour of being the worst song sent into TSC in 2015. I just cannot imagine how the whole process of producing this mess happened. Was the producer aware of the complete lack of talent of Gnesa? He probably was, but that does not justify the fact that the effects used on her vocal are used so inaccurately that her already off-key singing sounds even worse than it should. This honestly reminds me of when Rebecca Black released "Friday" and got panned for the overuse of autotune. This should be panned for the ineffectiveness of such vocal effects, and gosh, that repetitive "lalalala." I hope this song will soon become something used for the prisoners convicted of high-degree crimes, that would be the only function that this song would do properly.
This is the end of the countdown, but the next TSC-related blog will be about the worst TSC songs that did not make it on this list! Stay tuned!
