Jogon wanted to share a special message about what HHAM means to him with y’all. Once again thank you to all of you who have been supporting him this week <3

While we're currently in the beginning of October, we're actually in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month! I wanted to share a bit about my life with you guys while I have some time being banned from the site.
Throughout my life as a Mexican American, I've at times felt the pressure of not being American enough for Americans and not Mexican enough for Mexicans. But during this time I always feel like sharing stories, finding your identity and authenticity. My parents are fully bilingual but chose to only raise me with english to make sure that I had the best opportunities in school.
In high school I was viewed as a bit of a loner (mostly due to being in the closet) but it was always strange with the few friends I did have. My time here I never really felt like I could be myself. At home I couldn't be myself as well. The only thing my parents saw was a good student who played video games and stayed in his room.
After I spread my wings in college I was able to truly be my authentic self but this was also where I felt like fitting in was still a difficult things to do. I picked up a Spanish minor and learned a lot of conversational Spanish and even joined my school's spanish department for event planning.
As I joined the work force I was very open about my orientation ethnicity. I joined our hispanic network group to learn more about events and activities. Quickly they wanted me to be involved and wanted to provide some virtual entertainment during Covid and below is the result of that! They've used it for multiple meetings among the years! I hope you'll enjoy this classic song done by me and a colleague.
