I dont think there is anything wrong with reaching out to friends you have played with in the past, but sending that to everyone might be a bit much. But I still dont see why people hate it so much because you could just as easily get that message and choose to evict that person. Its a risk to spam and isn't a for sure thing to work every time.
goomybear I would understand messaging some friends to save you, but for someone to start commenting in random blogs for people to save them is completely different, I feel.
