Hey everyone! I'm here to finally deliver the first round of results for season three of Music Taste!
This week I asked contestants to submit a signature song, a song based around female empowerment, and a live performance, and I must say on the whole the standard of submissions was really high and it was really tough to work out who to eliminate.
Before we get started, two people didn't submit so turkeylover and Mrkk will be eliminated from the competition, but that doesn't mean the rest of you are off the hook! Two people will still leave the competition and we will ultimately be down to 10 players by the end of this post.
So... without further ado, let's get to the judging.

You six are... safe. That might be alright for now, but y'all are gonna need to STEP IT UP if you want a chance at winning, but nonetheless, you will be advancing to week two. Congratulations.
Hunty, these were some interesting submissions! My favourite of your three was the female empowerment song, I appreciated that you submitted a song in a different language, and I enjoyed it, however with that category being so strong, it got drowned out, and your other two submissions didn't inspire me. No love got no love from me, and I wanted more from it, whilst your live submission - whilst sung well, was quite boring to me.
Jack! I thought this was a strong week from you. I couldn't take my eyes off Evvie as she slayed Proud Mary, and whilst Sue Me slipped in the rankings, I thought it was a cute bop. Obviously you won a round on season two with Homesick, but it didn't quite hit the same way for me this time around - but it is still an emotional and high quality track.
I must say after your first submission I was worried for you... my humps propped up the rankings for the signature round, but your other two submissions came to SLAY and really redeemed you. If you can nail the signature next time, you're on the way to a winning formula.
I'm sorry to say, that your submissions fell flat for me this week. Whilst Joanna was okay, I found it quite forgettable, and Sorry by Beyonce was a huge miss for me. James Graham's cover of Hello was by far your strongest submission of the week, though, his vocals were stunning. Is it enough to keep you here though?
PERIOD BRADEN. Way to start out STRONG. Mixer has gone right on the playlist, what an absolute bop you introduced me to here. I thought Liz was a good submission by Remi Wolf, and Demi Lovato's emotional performance of Anyone really pulled on my heart strings. Good start from you.
Not the best start to the competition from you, Julian. Your signature was okay, but was quite forgettable in my opinion, and didn't stick with me. Independent Woman will forever be a bop, but what drags you down is your show stopper. I thought the vocals were okay? The fact it was the masked singer disconnected me from the performance to be honest, and it didn't stand out to me in any way.
With all that being said...
FromAWindow, you're a winner baby! I've decided against immunities this season, but you are safely through to the next round. You should all be going for that win, though, this will play a factor in who ultimately takes home the crown.
Sorry guys! Unfortunately your submissions just weren't quite up to par for the opening week, and you will be leaving the competition after just one week. Be sure to apply to future seasons though, where hopefully you will get redemption. Goodbye for now.
