Jeff tells the 18 remaining contestants that both tribes' members will compete against each other in two different individual challenges. The winners from both tribes will be team captains. Also, the last two people who are not picked will automatically be sent out of the game.

At Taranaki camp, a tight bond between Danni, Sophie, and Todd is formed. J.T, Aras, and Ethan know that they need more numbers. Also, Todd finds the hidden immunity idol, and decides to show it to Danni and Sophie.
At Paihia camp, Parvati, Sandra, and Yul agree that the bond between Amber and Rob is too tight so one of them has to go home soon. Rob finds the hidden immunity idol and tells Amber about it. Also, a tight alliance is formed between Natalie and Fabio.
At the reward challenge, Paihia wins flint.
At the immunity challenge, Taranaki wins, meaning Paihia will have to vote out their third tribemate.
Before Tribal Council at the Taranaki camp, Parvati, Sandra, Yul, Fabio, Natalie, and Tom agree that either Rob or Amber should be the next person to go home.
At Tribal Council, Rob decides to play the hidden immunity idol on Amber.

At the Paihia camp, a dominant alliance is formed. It contains Tom, Parvati, Sandra, Rob, Amber, and Yul.
At the reward challenge, Paihia wins. They receive a tarp for their shelter.
At the immunity challenge, Jeff reveals that the losing tribe will have to vote out TWO contestants, whiles the winning tribe only has to vote one. Taranaki wins the challenge.
At Paihia tribal council, Tom, Parvati, Sandra, Rob, Amber, and Yul agreed that they should all vote Vecepia.
