At Painaki camp, the dominant alliance of Tom, Yul, Amber, Parvati, Jenna, and Sandra is beginning to break up. Jenna and Amber are breaking off of the alliance, because they feel like they don't need to be in an alliance that big anymore. They want to get to the end on their own. Tom, Yul, Parvati, and Sandra decide that Jenna and Amber are more of a threat than J.T and Chris.
At the reward challenge, J.T wins a tour of the New Zealand wildlife by helicopter followed by a picnic. He invites Chris to come along with him.
At the immunity challenge, Parvati wins, giving her a spot in the final seven.
Before Tribal Council, Parvati, Tom, Sandra, and Yul have a discussion with J.T and Chris. They tell J.T and Chris about Jenna and Amber quitting the dominant alliance. That means that if J.T and Chris vote with them tonight, the two will be spared until the final six.
At Painaki camp, Chris finds the newly hidden H.I.I. He shows it to J.T, Aras, and Sophie. The other 6 do not know of it.
There was no reward challenge this episode.
At the immunity challenge, 2 people would be able to win, because (Jeff reveals) tonight's tribal council will be a DOUBLE elimination, meaning a triple duel at Redemption Island later on.
The winners of immunity are J.T and Tom. That meant that these two would make it to the final 2.
Before Tribal Council, J.T, Sophie, Chris, and Aras agreed that they should play the H.I.I on Chris. Tom, Yul, Amber, Parvati, Jenna, and Sandra agreed that they should split the vote, while Parvati plays the idol on herself. So that both votes go there way.

With 3 votes, Sophie was the next person to head off to Redemption Island. Now, they remaining 9 had to re-vote. They could not vote for J.T, Chris, Parvati, or Tom.
At Painaki camp, the six original Paihia's have complete control over the remaining Taranaki's. Todd and Sophie know that they need to somehow use Todd's idol to vote off a Paihia so they can hopefully become the dominant alliance. Parvati decides to show her five allies the idol she has. Parvati says that from now on, she will use this idol for the alliance, not for herself.
At the reward challenge, Parvati won. She invited Sandra to spend a night in a natives village.
At the immunity challenge, Amber won guaranteeing herself a spot in the final ten.
Before Tribal Council, Todd told Sophie that he will play the idol on here (he is hoping that they will vote Sophie) Todd and Sophie tell the other Taranaki's the plan. Hopefully it will work.
Taranaki and Paihia are now merged into a new tribe called Painaki.
At Painaki camp, the remaining twelve contestants celebrate the merge with a big feast of food. There are two big alliances in Painaki. The original Paihia tribe vs. the original Taranaki tribe. Also, Tom finds the newly-hidden hidden immunity idol. He tells no one.
At the individual reward challenge, J.T wins a tour of the jungle canopy with zip-lining and a barbecue feast. He is allowed to invite two other people. The two people J.T invites are Aras and Chris.
At the barbecue feast, J.T, Aras, and Chris agree to stick together until the final three.
At the INDIVIDUAL immunity challenge, Sophie wins. Sophie has a spot in the final 11.
Before Tribal Council, J.T, Aras, Chris, Bob, Sophie, and Todd agree to vote together. Tom decides that it would be wise for him to play the idol tonight just to be safe. Also, Sandra, Jenna, Parvati, Amber, Tom, and Yul agree to also vote together.
