Do you know someone, or a department, who needs but can not afford a service dog due to cost.
In memoriam of the innocent souls lost in Newtown, CT
Tuscaloosa K9 Training Academy and Camp Mayhem Rescue's founder, Heather "Red" Litz, certified master trainer would like to complete 25 lives.
We are looking for individuals in need of companion service dogs for emotional medical conditions. A letter of certification from your physician and a stable home environment are required to qualify.
It is well documented that an emotional condition is lessened when a bond is formed between human and canine. Studies show that service dogs can relieve the effects of emotional disabilities by calming and reducing stress associated with the disability.
The 26th and final act of kindness involves Law Enforcement. Police K-9 dogs are highly trained in drug or explosive detection, search and rescue (SAR) and/or felon apprehension. Training is time intensive and costly. Red has always been passionate about training working dogs, police dogs in particular. Camp Mayhem Rescue will donate to one Law Enforcement or Fire Department a fully certified single or dual purpose police or SAR canine.
