In my last game, I had to backstab a fair number of players in order to get myself to the top. After the game had ended, I got a few messages from people who were angry with me for backstabbing them, as if this isn't okay. In my opinion backstabbing is all part of the game, as this is a SOCIAL game. In the first few evictions, one person - I'll call her Mary - voted for me to be evicted, albeit unsuccessfully as she didn't have the necessary numbers to put me up for eviction. Mary then TOLD me that she had voted me, and so i quickly put together a makeshift alliance to get her voted. Am I the only one thinking there's nothing wrong with this?! Mary was very angry that I had betrayed her trust, but to me this is just part of the game.
Again, in final 4 I had to betray my alliance. One person, I'll call her Alice, had been very active throughout the game and had a real chance at winning. I had won POV at final 4, so I could nominate whoever I wanted without fearing nomination myself. Alice was nominated and I chose to evict her. Although brutal, this was best for me to further myself in the game. Once again I got msgs saying how unfair this was... thoughts? I was only upset bc you made it seem like backstabbing was the worst possible thing to do in game and implied that you'd never do it

wintermagne Yes, but implying I'd never do it, is part of the the game! I implied that to make you think I wouldn't do it and to make you trust me... - which you did :)
I think it is a game. It really just depends how you handled it. Did you rub it their face or were honest about why you had to do it? Were they friends or just alliance members? I could understand a friend being hurt and alliance member should understand it is part of the game. It sucks but it also could effect you in future games where people will see that you are not trustworthy you will start getting a lot of 13s but it is game so
lawblondie with the one who voted me off first I wasn't particularly nice, as it was fundamentally revenge. For my alliance member tho I explained it and said how i had to do it otherwise she would have beaten me, and she was too strong a player. I guess it will affect me in later games :O
