Ditching allies to further yourself - Is it okay?

15thSep 13, 2016 by Whitney1
Okay, so I just had an ICONIC game. The game started off slow, there were 5 inactives, but already I was getting votes; in the first or second round icr I got 3 nominations but luckily wasn't up for the vote. Ngl, I did overplay in the early stages - I spoke to I think 5 people saying let's be in an alliance and hinted at final 3 to a couple - Only one person was I determined to take to the end rustic_roots I was up for nomination against the person I'd wanted to get. I ran around to everyone in private messages being like "she's got POV like twice you'd have a better chance at winning against me." SOMEHOW I survived, and made it through another round before I got my first POV. I slowly rose to power and for some reason everyone just followed me and asked me what to do, before at least one of my allies turned on me. This one person had been POV three times - she had to go. I assured people that if they kept me in she'd been gone and that the person I was against was too big a threat. I survived AGAIN AND GOT POV AT FINAL 4! Iconic. So it was at this point I had to turn on my ally I had been with since day 1. She had won POV THREE TIMES more than anyone else and had barely got a single vote throughout. I took this rogue person who I was initially just using as a vote but actually became a legitimate loyal ally to the final 3, and the person who i was determined to bring with me at the start. Does this make me loyal or what?! Like I stayed in an alliance with them as far as I logistically could, but I had to ditch them at some point... thoughts?!
