karmasutra on a serious level, why wouldn't you want to have free healthcare and why are you ok with people dying for not being able to afford to life saving medicine that are cheap to make but price gauged to buy?

Memphis_Grizzlies, now you're just putting words in my mouth. I never once said I was against universal healthcare. If it were ever implemented though, it should never be mandated and should be up to each individual. I actually have great healthcare through my employer, and I'm content paying a little out of my income to have it, and would continue to do so.

lol thats not how a pay in health care system works. you chip in for the greater good, even if for some reason you don't want health care.  just like with social security. it's honestly just like social security except it is for everyone. karmasutra

Memphis_Grizzlies did you literally just say that Social Security isn't for everyone? Social Security is for everyone...everyone who works. You pay into Social Security until you retire, and then you get Social Security benefits every month based on what you paid in and how long you worked. You're literally the dumbest "smart" person I've ever met, and your last comment just proved that, so this will be my last comment to you today, because I literally can't deal with your stupidity and ignorance anymore today

i mean everybody at once... social security isn't provided for the entire population at once. karmasutra

I understand the concern of forcing everyone to pay MORE taxes, who wants that? However, I'd rather pay more on taxes and have the comfort of knowning that I'm going to be taken care of, than to one day find myself in the hospital and racked thousands of dollars in debt. Which is a reality for so many. Even people who save up a large sum can lose it all in a day with just one accident or one diagnosis. Insulin in Canada and in the USA costs less than $20 to make. In Canada it's about $40 to buy, in USA it's about $300 to buy.

Yes it's annoying to have more out of our paychecks extracted, but if it offsets the care of medical bills, I think paying more taxes is the better end of the deal. We're ALL going to need medical attention at some point down the road.

Yes, exactly... People could lose their jobs and have no money and NO ability to get medical attention. It should be a right weetmaster . I do not know why that is so controversial
