The castaways arrive on the beach. Divided into 2 tribes, the 20 past survivor contestants are back to prove they have what it takes to redeem their mistakes. On Foa Foa are Alexis, Cirie, Cliff, Hayden, Jaclyn, Laura, Ozzy, R.C, Shamar, and Wes. As for Galu, there is Betsy, Bob, Erik, Joaquin, Krista, Malcolm, NaOnka, Sash, Shirin, and Val. The tribes compete in a reward challenge upon arriving on the beach. In a massive upset, Foa Foa defeated the supposedly unscathed Galu. The tribes recieved maps to their respective camps, and headed on out to their camps.
At Foa Foa, time waited for no man. The tribe began building their shelter, starting a fire, and talking amongst each other. They were all unified and agreed unification would make them stronger and avoid tribal council. After everyone had rice for dinner and fallen asleep, Alexis woke Cirie, Jaclyn, and Ozzy up. She told them that the 4 of them can work very well, as the "Micronesians" + socialite Jaclyn could easily run the tribe. They agreed, and went back to sleep. Although they fell asleep, Laura overheard the entire conversation. In a confessional stated by Laura, she said "It's Day 1, and they are trying to form a super-alliance even after agreement on unification. It goes to show they can't be trusted." Laura talked to two of the people she thinks she can trust the most, Cliff and Shamar. They agree on taking out this super-alliance if they ever lose, and head back to the main group.
At Galu, the game began immediately. Alliances were being formed quicker than Ebola spreading, and the chaos erupted. Bob and NaOnka had stayed clear of the alliances, thinking playing it safe with no allies and helping the tribe would benefit. Although she was somewhat right, that was not the entire story. An alliance of Erik, Krista, Sash, Shirin, and Val had ensued. Agreement on strength, they called themselves "The Fantastic Five." Cheeky name, but great concept. Sash led the group in the idea of voting out NaOnka first. In a confessional, Sash stated "She quit the game. She's a trainwreck, ready to explode yet again. Quitters hang."
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE #1
"Six members from each tribe would race across a series of three wooden A-frames carrying three coils of rope. At the end of the course, the six would use the rope to pull a heavy wooden crate across a ramp and up to the finish platform. The four remaining tribe members would disassemble the crate to use as puzzle pieces. The first tribe to solve the puzzle (Without victory there is no survival) would win."

Foa Foa wins Immunity.
Jeff hands the immunity statue to Wes, and the tribes head back to camp.
At Galu, everyone seemed too depressed to talk strategy. Besides the unknown existence of "The Fantastic Five," everyone else seemed vulnerable and confused. Trying to guarantee their safety from the vote, Betsy talked to Joaquin and Malcolm and suggested aligning with Bob and NaOnka. They agreed, and the 5 decided Shirin was a liability and the weak leak for performing poorly in the challenge. They did not talk to anyone else, and kept the plan intact amongst each other. Worried about a tie, Bob stated in a confessional "It seems as if the other 5 not in my alliance are ignoring all of us. They don't talk to me or NaOnka, which worries me. The votes seem to be deadlocked at 5-5, and we could see rocks tonight." He headed to tribal council pondering to backstab his alliance.
TRIBAL COUNCIL #1
Galu walks into tribal council, dipping their torches into the fire and placing it behind their seats. They sit down, nervous and cautious of what may come. Jeff asks questions to each member, but one stood out in general. Val made a comment directed towards Bob, and the fact that votes were headed his way. This shook Bob up, and he felt certain on going home. She said if he doesn't vote NaOnka, a quitter who needed to go, he would end up being voted out instead of her. Joaquin and Malcolm retaliated to Val's comment, stating no one was voting Bob, and no one was voting NaOnka. Krista let's out a giggle, and Jeff says he is excited to see what happens. It was time to vote.
