Days go by without any calls from Jan. Jen and Simon ignore Chris. A police car however arrives at the house, Chris answers the door to them and The kids discuss what could be happening. After several minutes Chris comes back into the house and breaks down into tears on the floor. He reveals after The kids comfort him that Jan was found dead. Chris says how some of the loansharks he was involved with drove after her in cars forcing her to go off road. When Simon suddenly flips out and Blames Chris he retaliates by hitting Simon, he falls to the ground, as Jen gets up to stop Chris, he slaps her. Chris removes his belt and approaches Nick who at this time is crying. Simon threatens to kill Chris if he touches Nick and Chris quickly realises what he is doing and runs upstairs. Simon and Jenrun towards Nick to calm him down.
Early the next day Chris is heard leaving the house, the kids all go downstairs to relax for a few hours. Chris comes back and surprises them all with a puppy and asks to start again. After plenty of thought and discussion they accept, even though Simons 50/50 incase of a let down.
