...which there probably should, there needs to be some serious consideration of different things as to who should be included randomize
1. there has to be a TEAM. not just 1 user and 1 or 2 people they ask to help them, but a group of like 3-5 users, and its worth considering even more. the more people there are weighing in on decisions the more of a chance any decisions made will be fair. and it shouldn't be a team of users who are all best friends because that will lead to some questionable decisions... which, again, is why the more the better, because you open up to more diverse opinions
2. they have to be fairly active users covering different time zones. if every single mod is someone in the EST time zone there will probably be long periods of time where no mods are online to be doing their job. it doesnt have to be people that are on 24/7, but as long as there are at least 1 or 2 mods on at most times
3. it should be users with older accounts who have been here for longer periods of time. players with accounts that have lasted the test of time clearly have been doing something right to not get permed.
4. avoid controversial and highly argumentative/problematic people. anyone who is constantly getting into petty battles is not a good choice for a mod. especially people who already have/have had powers of some kind, like those who can delete blogs, and are constantly abusing them or picking and choosing how they use their powers.
5. and honestly........... consider hiring moderators from OUTSIDE of the website. users in the website can barely be trusted
