and not be in support of assisted death? If #MyBodyMyChoice and bodily autonomy mean anything, then the right to die is the ultimate choice of what to do with your body. If someone is in pain and decided they’ve had enough, then who is anyone to tell them otherwise?
also right to not wear a seatbelt if you choose but hey fuck that they can give tickets right....soon as you realize they do not give a fuck and it is all about the money better off you will be
Our government is founded on a separation of church and state, and from that basis alone, the government should keep their sweaty hands off of that decision. If people want to end it, thats their prerogative. I do think it should only be allowed for terminally ill patients though.
I support assisted death if someone's old and on their death bed but I think a young person who's depressed or something shouldn't be allowed for assisted death. There's help out there for them
This has happened in somewhat sketchy circumstances before (I remember one case where a guy had supposedly signed a paper saying he wanted assisted death if he became mentally incapabale or whatever but half his family claimed he had changed his mind or was signaling to them that he didn't want it anymore or something) which is where I think a lot of the controversy comes from
