Project Runway 10:01/02 Jul 30, 2012
image(Spoilers if you haven't watched the last two episodes)

Project Runway is back with talented, amazing, kind-hearted designers...oh and Gunnar.

After a season 9 that wasn't a fan favorite, season 10 of the design-competition is looking good so far, with amazing designers (Ven! Melissa! Sonjia!), annoying villains (Gunnar! Lantie! Dmitry!) and cooky personalities (Kooan! Buffi!).

In the first two episodes boring Beatrice and angry Lantie was eliminated. To be fair, Buffi should probably have been eliminated in episode two after a horrible candy-design, but luckily Lantie was given the boot, partly because of her bad attitude and unwillingness to be creative.

Power rankings:
14th place: Raul. We haven't seen much of Raul so far. The designs we have seen from him haven't been noteworthy and his latest design was quite bad actually.

13th place: Fabio. He seems like a nice guy, but his designs have been kind of boring and one dimensional. I would like for him to do something a little more out-of-the-box next time.

12th place: Alicia. I'm afraid Alicia does not stand out with her designs and doesn't bring a whole lot to the table. The mediocre strategy has worked so far for her, because there has been some truly bad designs in the first two episodes, but she could be in trouble in upcoming episodes.

11th place: Buffi. She's has a really nice personality, but I'm afraid her style is just not in the judges, or anyone else's, taste. Her candy-design in episode two is probably the worst thing I have seen so far in season 10. She really needs to step it up.

10th place: Nathan. Another designer we haven't seen much of. His designs the first week was okay, while his designs the second week definitely had something good to it, despite the fact that it was really heavy. I wish he would try to do something crazy and something he haven't tried before, just to see what would come out of it.

9th place: Kooan. He's probably not going to make it to ninth place, as the judges are already annoyed by him and he doesn't seem to listen to their critique. He's pretty good TV though and the producers are probably interested in keeping him around for a little while.

8th place: Elena. I'm not sure how bad she really wants to win. She has shown a bit of an attitude and her designs haven't been that great, but she definitely have a style and I'm intrigued to see where she's going to go the next couple of weeks.

7th place: Andrea. I hated her design the second week, both before and after her consultation with Tim. I'm not sure if her experience is going to carry her far or her lack of creative thinking is going to get her out early.

6th place: Melissa. We haven't seen anything from her that is not black. Despite of this, Melissa is still one of my favorites so far. I'm very intrigued by her as a designer, but she still needs to show she's is able to actually use other colors than black, if she wants to go far.

5th place: Christopher. He has done pretty good, and after he became Gunnar's enemy number 1, he's probably going to stick around for a while. His designs have been good, but nothing spectacular.

4th place: Gunnar. It's clear that he's very passionate about this and I'm guessing he's gonna go really far, but is there any way producers will let him win? I don't think so.

3rd place: Sonjia. She seems very focused and has some great ideas. I don't think her style is going to carry her to the win, but I think she's going to go pretty far.

2nd place: Dmitry. Okay, this may be a long shot, as he kind of have a bad attitude and is not very nice in his confessionals, but he has made some interesting pieces and I am very curious to see how far he can, and wants, to go.

1st place: Ven. He's the clear front-runner right now, not only does he have a creative mind, but his sewing abilities are amazing. Charisma-allergic Ven is definitely the one to beat right now.

Hell's Kitchen 10:14/15 Jul 29, 2012
image(Spoilers if you haven't watched the last two episodes of Hell's Kitchen).

Another week has passed in what is probably one of my least favorite seasons of the show. I must say the last two seasons haven't been as exciting as the first eight has. In season 9 too much attention was given to the show's main villain Elise. This season there are no real villains. I know Robyn is very annoying, but she is also so scared. Scared at people yelling at her, incredibly scared of Chef Ramsey saying one bad thing to her and by that she kind of loses her villain-status.

Brian and Kimmie were sent packing, which was okay. Kimmie was clearly not ready and too emotional and Brian was kind of annoying.

With that said, let's get to the power rankings:
6th place: Clemenza. This guy has been up for elimination more times than I can count. He constantly screws up and he's not really a leader, in my opinion. No way this guy is going to win.

5th place: Robyn. Robyn is not going to win. She came off to a good start at the beginning of the season but has since become kind of obnoxious. Producers are probably interested in keeping her around for a little while, because she's a dramaqueen.

4th place: Dana. STOP SCREAMING IN YOUR CONFESSIONALS! Dana was actually my early pick to win it all, but has made a few mistakes in the last couple of episodes and, judging from the preview for next week, she could be in danger of going home very soon.

3rd place: Justin. If I had to guess the producers are looking for a female winner this season. Justin has done pretty well and he seems like a decent chef, but he has not been given a lot of screen time, plus he's not very good TV.

2nd place: Christina. Christina is probably going to win. She's calm, cool and collected. I really like her, and she has done nothing wrong to only deserve second place, but...

1st place: Barbie. Okay, I know that Barbie winning is probably a long shot, but she has performed steadily and done great, especially the last couple of weeks. Her attitude is what's getting in her way of victory. It's pretty apparent that no one really likes her, but I hope she can pull through and maybe Hell's Kitchen can have it's first black female winner? Who knows.

Masterchef US 3:14/15 Jul 27, 2012
image(Spoiler if you have not watched the two latest episodes)

Ugh. Very bad week on Masterchef. Not only did Josh come back, but Felix was eliminated. Felix has done way better than David over the course of the show and I can't believe they eliminated her over him, despite the fact that he had a huge advantage and blew it.

I'm still hoping one of the girls or Frank can win.

My power rankings:
6th place: David. This guy has done consistently bad and he's still there. I liked him in the beginning because he became Ryan's enemy no. 1, but haven't done anything great since. Or even good.

5th place: Josh. He was given a second chance and blew it. He's quite mean and self-absorbed. I hope he goes home next. He also seems kind of inexperienced in comparison to the rest of the contestants still there.

4th place: Monti. She's reality TV-gold with the amazing confessionals and the great backstory, but I'm still not sure how good of a chef she is. I really like her, but I don't think she has any chance of winning.

3rd place: Christine. She could possibly win. My assumption would be that a guy is going to win this year, since two girls won the first two seasons, but Christine has a good chance of actually winning. She's a great chef and seems like a very good person.

2nd place: Frank. He seems like a winner at this point, but we haven't seen much of him compared to the other contestants. He has done good in challenges, but not great. I don't think he has had one bad dish this whole competition, so he's probably the front-runner at this point.

1st place: Becky. I don't think there's any doubt she's the best chef in the competition. Only thing working against her is the fact that producers might want a male-winner. There's no room for error if she wants to win the competition, but she's the best chef there and she's very competitive, so she's the one I'm rooting for.

It will be interesting seeing what is going to happen next week. It won't be the same without Felix, but who am I kidding... I'm still going to watch :)
