Leli's Survivor, 20 Memorable Moments: 6-5 Aug 10, 2015
imageAfter a short break, we continue with the last six moments. Here are moments 5 and 6...

6. THE POWERCOUPLE TAKEDOWN (S3, SURVIVOR: VENEZUELA)
http://tengagedgroups.wikia.com/wiki/Leli's_Survivor%3A_Venezuela
Coming in sixth place we have a moment that happened in one of the first seasons, Survivor: Venezuela, season no. 3. Venezuela is still to this day one of my favorite seasons because both the pre-merge and post-merge was entertaining and unpredictable.

During season 3, a couple notorious for working together every chance they get, Josh ( JoshJosh123) and Danielle ( Snowgirl57) were running the game, with Josh taking the lead and showing no mercy towards anyone in his way of winning the game. It looked like they would cruise to victory, but some of fellow contestants started to become suspisious of this alliance. Among them eventual winner Hesita ( Hestia), returning player Nick ( kanyouhelpme) and future all star runner-up Stephen ( SimvivoRWay). A few days into the merge a twist was introduced that would split up the merged tribe into two teams, where each team would go to Tribal Council. Danielle ended up on one team, and Josh ended up on the other.

With nowhere to hide, the other players finally saw an opportunity to take out the two powerplayers. Danielle and Josh were both voted out on their respective teams, sending both of them home on the same day.

The reason I like this moment a lot is because it goes to show how quickly things can change in Survivor. If you start to feel comfortable in the game, that's probably when you have to be the most worried. And especially in Tengaged group games, where twists happens more often. The twist I used here that ultimately screwed Danielle and Josh over was also used in my first two seasons, Tasmania and Mauritania, but have not been used since then.

5. THE FLIP FLOP ALLIANCE (S20, SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS)
http://tengagedgroups.wikia.com/wiki/Leli%27s_Survivor:_Saint_Croix_-_Heroes_vs._Villains
In fifth place we have another moment from Heroes vs. Villains, another one of my favorite seasons from the series, because we had both a great pre- and post-merge. While the previous HvV moment on the list was from the Heroes tribe, we're heading to the Villains tribe time and what happened on their tribe pre-merge.

When the game started in HvV the tribe quickly got divided into two. On one side you had Sean ( Renegade628), Will ( CK11), Cory ( Lifer107) and Joe ( Joeker). On the other side you had Alicia ( IceIceBaby), Ollie ( MrPokeguy9), Jayshawna ( BBlover96) and LeQuisha (@LusciousLips). And in between these two sides you had Dana ( TotsTrashy) and Brandon ( Bdreezy15) who quickly realised that they were the swing votes each Tribal Council and used this to their advantage by flip flopping at every Tribal Council between these two alliances to make sure they were never targeted. Jayshawna was the first casualty, then Sean, then Alicia, then Cory. After four eliminations (with both sides losing two allies), the remaining players started to catch on what was happening and how they were constantly being played by Dana and Brandon.

This ultimately led the two sides, who had been at odds from the beginning of the game, to band together to eliminate a common threat; The Flip Flop Alliance.

When the Villains lost yet another Immunity Challenge, they went back to Tribal Council. Dana and Brandon both thought they were once again in control of the vote and targeted Joe, but what they didn't know was that the others were ready to cut the flip floppers loose. After banding together, they blindsided Brandon and at the following Tribal Council when the merge hit, they also help assist the Heroes in eliminating Dana from the game-

I liked this moment a lot. Watching two sides take out a common threat was pretty fun and made for a very memorable Tribal Council (and season!).

And with that, we cracked the top five! Only four more moments to go.

Here are two quotes from the next two moments (moments 4 and 3), coming up next:
4. "Comparing me to a baby? How original of you."
3. "but she has an Immunity Idol..."

8. KINDNESS NEVER PAYS OFF (S14, SURVIVOR: KIRIBATI)
http://tengagedgroups.wikia.com/wiki/Leli%27s_Survivor:_Kiribati
Coming in at eight place we have a game-defining moment from the fourteenth season, Survivor: Kiribati. This has been one of only two seasons where I used an original twist that would change how the game was fundamentally played, by having different contestants enter the game at various times during the season instead of having all sixteen contestants play the game from day 1.

Only six players were invited to play the game from day 1, among them season standouts Survivorgame1 and MrPokeguy9 who quickly formed an alliance that would take them far into the game. At day 20, they were the only two players left who had been there since the first day. Jimbo ( sahmosean), Joe ( TheEclipse) and Clair ( haycsclair) were set on voting Paul out for being a target, hoping to get Ollie and his allies Courtney ( NovaScotiaChic) and Lukas ( SirNiceGuy) to do the same. Ollie was originally sold on the plan and voted for Paul, but got cold feet because he didn't want to stab an ally in the back. So instead he continued to work with Paul and voted Joe out. But the following Tribal Council the tables had turned. Paul was now in possession of the Immunity Necklace, and Jimbo and Clair were set on targeting Ollie, and Paul was not as merciful as Ollie was at the last Tribal Council and quickly agreed to the plan to take out his day 1-ally Ollie, leaving him as the only player to have been in the game since the beginning.

The reason I liked this moment so much was because it really shows what a tough game Survivor is. If you want to go far and win a game like this, you can't be nice! You have to play dirty at some point.

7. AUSTIN'S LAST DITCH EFFORT (S9, SURVIVOR: VIETNAM)
http://tengagedgroups.wikia.com/wiki/Leli%27s_Survivor:_Vietnam
Coming in as the seventh most memorable moment we're going back to a season that overall was not very memorable, mostly because of one duos complete dominance over the season. I'm talking about the ninth season of the series, Survivor: Vietnam, where six players who previously competed in the series returned after going out pre-merge in their original season. They were pitted against 12 newbies. Among the newbies were memorable players like Ryan ( KidA), Easton ( Notsae) and future winner of Survivor: Socotra, Shadi ( Chastain).

Among the returning players were Dexter ( thedarkpassanger) and Austin ( hinata0014). They formed an alliance early in the game and stuck to it all the way to the end, where they made Final Tribal Council together. Heading into FTC Dexter was the obvious favorite to win the title of Sole Survivor, but Austin was not about to go down without a fight. During FTC Austin started making accusations against Dexter that he had talked smack about several of the jury-members and he even showed screenshots of PM's Dexter had send him. Only one problem... They were complete fake. FTC quickly turned into a fight about whether the screenshots were fake or not.

Even though Austin still lost the season, he was still able to make the vote closer than anyone could have anticipated. Had one vote gone from Dexter to Austin, it would have been a tie. But ultimately Dexter took home yet another group game win, and became the Sole Survivor of Vietnam.

The reason I personally really like this moment is not so much because of the fake PMs. I'm actually not a huge fan of that. But I do like a player who have just completely abandoned all moral principles in his pursuit to win a game. Austin got 20th place in the first season he competed in, and he would stop at nothing in his quest to redeem himself and win the game his second time around in Vietnam. Both Dexter and Austin are memorable characters from my series. It's a shame we have yet to see them play for a third time.

And with that, there's only six more moments to go! What do you think of the moments so far? Should something be higher or lower on the list?

Here are two quotes from the next two moments (moments 6 and 5), coming up next:
6. "there is a god the two people i wanted out since merge go the same night. lordy hallelujah"
5. "*Stands up and applauds this tribe* Only took you like 6 tribals to realise but w.e"

Leli's Survivor, 20 Memorable Moments: 10-9 Jul 23, 2015
imageWe have officially entered the top 10! And the list continues with Moments 10 and 9...

10. ALL STAR ROCK DRAW (S10, SURVIVOR: PERU - FRIENDS VS. ENEMIES)
http://tengagedgroups.wikia.com/wiki/Leli's_Survivor%3A_Peru_-_Friends_vs._Enemies
Clocking in at no. 10 we have a classic rock draw! This was back in season 10, the second full returnee-season of the series. It had one of the best casts I've ever had for a season, with five pairs of friends making up one tribe, and five pairs of enemies making up the other. You would think the Enemies tribe would be the drama-tribe, but as the second Tribal Council of the season proved, it turned out to be the Friends.

A couple of weeks before the season began I had started casting. Finding Friends-pairs to compete in the season was pretty easy, because there's been a lot of them. One of the more obvious being best friends Janelle ( Janelle_Pierzina) and Ashley ( BigBruv). Both of them agreed to play as friends, but right before the season began they had a falling out. This did not stop me from putting them in the season though, and thank god I didn't...

The game starts and the Friends loses the second Immunity Challenge, sending the pairs to Tribal Council. With five pairs, the last thing you would expect was a tie, since it was expected all pairs would stick together, but Ashley and Janelle did not see eye to eye, leading Janelle to go with the Dono/Matt G. + Colleen/Bingo ( donosaurus_rex GiGi10 Mittens bingo21) alliance, and Ashley joining forces with the Felix/Christian + Danielle/Josh (#Fern111 HipposUnite Snowgirl57 JoshJosh123) alliance.

This led to a tied vote at their first Tribal Council, and when the re-vote also ended in a tie, it was left up to faith who would be eliminated from the game, and unfortunately for Felix (who had showed great promise up to this point) he was taken out.

Now there have been plenty of rock draws in the series, but the reason I liked this one so much  was that there was so much at stake. Not only was this an all-returnee season and only the second Tribal Council, you also had some big players facing early elimination. Dono had just come off of Bingo's Rogues vs. Righteous and getting first boot, and was now one vote away from getting 19th instead of winning the season had Janelle not stayed loyal to the alliance. This Tribal Council is also part of the reason Dono and Danielle (who both received 9 votes each during the original vote and re-vote) are at the top of the list for most votes cast against in a season (Danielle with a total of 23 votes, Dono with 20).

9. CHLOE GOES NUCLEAR (S11, SURVIVOR: PATAGONIA)
http://tengagedgroups.wikia.com/wiki/Leli%27s_Survivor:_Patagonia
In ninth place we find one of two fights that have made the list for top ten most memorable moments. One of the reasons this fight made the list was because it was so unexpected and late into the game.

After being underdogs for much of the season Shawn ( SuitMan13) and Natalie ( OhNatalie) (both future players in Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains) suddenly found themselves in a position of power after most of the season's big powerplayers ( bigbro263 Cole91 nbkiller JBC8) had exited the game. It looked like it would be smooth sailing to the end for them, but unexpectedly Chloe ( SilentSwordsman) who had been completely anonymous in the game up until that point woke up and decided to make it her mission to expose the power alliance of Shawn and Nat and get them out.

Now someone attacking you in public forums is nothing new and it rarely changes anyone's mind. Only problem was... This happened in the month mails were down! And so Shawn and Natalie had no way of doing damage control with the other remaining castaways, which led to both of them getting voted out sixth and fifth, with Chloe going home in fourth place. Mails being down was a very frustrating situation for everyone, but at least this fight kept some of us entertained in the three weeks we waited for mails to come back.

Alright, that's two more moments down! What do you think of the moments so far? Should something be higher or lower on the list?

And with that, here are two quotes from the next two moments (moments 7 and 8), coming up soon:
8. "Real friends wouldn't blindside a friend at Final 7...only a spineless coward would."
7. "Seriously? Your going to go as far as photo shopping images? I'm literally looking at the same Convo right now and that is not what I said."
