PYN - Literary Hits of my Education Edition

Mar 31, 2021 by ILoveLarry
and I will tell you which book/play/poem etc. I had to read in middle/high school english class you are, personality-quiz style!

(DISCLAIMER: DON'T READ TOO MUCH INTO THESE DESCRIPTIONS, IN FACT THIS IS MOSTLY A SELF-INDULGENT BLOG FOR ME TO PROCESS THE TRAUMAS OF MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH CLASS. I'M STILL NOT CONVINCED MY 10TH GRADE ENGLISH TEACHER WASN'T ACTUALLY SATAN IN HUMAN FORM)

Olympia: You are Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert! My 11th grade english teacher was weirdly into you. You're spicy and exciting, but also really tragic if we look past all the excitement. Be sure to indulge in some self-care, and remember to avoid the affections of sexy-but-selfish French dudes.

Kindred7: You are A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen! You are a strong, confident individual and you DON'T need an overbearing husband to hold you back from your dreams. You also might have daddy issues. This is a sign to leave behind the negative forces in your life and start living as your true self.

skyler1822: You are Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare! You're a classic that people only hate on because they're jealous they can't achieve the same icon status. Be sure to avoid getting into brawls with your rivals; fighting will only end in heartbreak.

rowjone: You are Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte! You have a tough exterior and can be confusing, but when people put in the time to get to know you, they end up finding you absolutely fascinating. bonus points for the kate bush song. iconic

CarolinaSteele: You are Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion! YOU'RE A BAD BITCH. Nobody is as cool as you. You've lived a really interesting life, and you have lots of fun stories to show for it!

VansAccountNumber534: You are Hamlet by William Shakespeare! You are THAT BITCH. Dramatic, tragic, and a little bit emo. You have legendary status in my senior year english class because for whatever reason we all got reallly invested in the DRAMA. (You said you wanted something good and this was my favorite thing I read in hs english :))

Rodulph: You are the poetry of Pablo Neruda! You made my 11th grade english class believe in true love. You are creative, loyal, and beautiful inside and out. You have so much love to give to others, but remember to take the time to give love to yourself as well!

Jessie_: You are Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez! You have been blessed with a huge brain and extraordinary beauty, and you will remain beautiful well into old age. I encourage you to remain open to life, love, and new adventures as long as you live! (lmao all this talk of old age sounds kinda weird but...I promise it's still less weird than the book ;))

Symmetry888: You are Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare! (Despite the best efforts of my 10th grade english teacher to ruin my life, I ended up loving you.) You're a popular player and a brilliant strategist, but check on your friends--they may not be as loyal as you think! And beware the ides of march ;))

lukesurvives: You are Animal Farm by George Orwell! You had such a hold on my 8th grade english class that you basically converted us all into communists, and this was a private catholic school we're talking about. (#fourlegsgoodtwolegsbad) THE POWER YOU HOLD. But remember that with great power comes great responsibility!

tbrown_47: You are The Great Gatsby! You're the very definition of a classic, and everyone loves you (especially my senior year english teacher, who is a wonderful person. Shoutout to her). Everyone also might think they have you all figured out, but you have *hidden depths*. The Great Gatsby entered the public domain this year, so just like this classic, you're ready to grow and reach your true potential in life!

andalarew_2231: You are 1984 by George Orwell! Some people love you, some people hate you, some people only know you as a Sparknotes summary, but at the end of the day you still live in these bitches heads rent-free. Maybe you should just overthrow the government and rule over us all. just a thought though idk!

Becksta20: You are the poetry of Robert Frost! You have an amazing ability to find beauty in the people, places, and things around you, even when others can't see it. You're also a true trailblazer, and you always take the road less traveled by.
