is a MUST bc the films are very much in dialogue with each other (I'm sure unintentionally, but it's still really interesting to consider them as such). Like there's the obvious "here's what happens when men rule the world" (hint: it's not good!), but also both are about iconic "creative" figures and how that creation exists alongside destruction (anti-feminist critiques of barbie vs. the literal destruction wrought by oppenheimer's creation). Also barbie becomes self-actualized via contemplation of death/mortality, whereas opp. "[becomes] death" by rejecting the self (his own pacifist ideals)...much to think about!
but I cringed every time they referred to him as "oppy". wtf was that
