I am heavily involved in my high school's theater department, having three lead roles my freshman year! A huge feat that hasn't actually been accomplished in my schools history for a long time. If there are fellow actors coming across this blog, I have only one piece of advice to do really well. WATCH GOOD ACTORS ACT. I have watched many, many movies and tv shows that have had excellent acting and for some reason I tend to mimic mannerisms and tones of voice that help my actual acting. If you are playing a drunk in a play, it helps that you have seen a movie that features a drunk as a main character, movie and tv show acting tends to be more reflective of actual events and makes it so much easier to nail those movements when trying to act. Research your part, research what the playwright intended, that helps when you go into an audition knowing exactly what needs to be conveyed in your acting.
