The coronavirus pandemic is way more important than this at the moment, so can the LGBTQ+ vs. BYU thing just take a backseat for now? I'm not saying this isn't an important issue; I'm just saying that energies and resources should be directed at the global pandemic right now. People are losing their routines, their livelihoods, happy opportunities, social interactions, and their very lives to this monstrous illness. So much energy is being poured into this one issue when that same energy is needed and should be used to prepare selves and homes for future impacts the coronavirus could have. Am I wrong in thinking that this illness should be encouraging people to focus on putting their lives, their homes, and their priorities in order in case the corona virus worsens fast? The coronavirus mess will eventually calm down and then people can go back to this, as it is important that this issue is also addressed, but there are bigger issues that need addressing more urgently at the moment. I am all for peaceful protests, but this is not really the time to be trying to draw attention to this cause when people are struggling with this global pandemic. I know what BYU has done in terms of their waffling is unethical and I agree that this issue is very important, but it's more important that they protect their physical health right now so they don't get sick. If they get sick, how are they going to protest? I'm all for this fight continuing once it's safe to do so. For now, though, they need to be safe.
