The greatest player of all time just lost in straight sets, and it was excruciating to watch. Nobody expected him to go too far at the Open, but the fact that we will never be able to see him win another grand slam again is heartbreaking. It has officially set in.
I have come to the conclusion that this is one of the greatest songs ever made, and it is definitely Bush's best.
The song is very representative of Bush's Razorblade Suitcase album, which only spawned a few minor hits. This was not one of them, and I have no clue why. The emotion that Gavin Rossdale puts into his lyrics and vocals is unmatched by anybody in the music industry today, and Synapse proves that. Many think negatively of this album, mainly because of the lyrical themes, but that is what I like most. Bush certainly was not a Grunge band, but this is as close as you could get in 1996, along with Soundgarden's Down On The Upside, and Nickelback's Hesher. And that is because of the lyrical themes, and because of the emotion of the vocals.

zimdelinvasor You should check this out. Gavin Rossdale's vocals are raspier, and in my opinion, BETTER, than on Sea of Memories, which doesn't hold a candle to Razorblade Suitcase.
...Or the guiding hand of fate. I don't believe in forever, or love as a mystical state. I don't believe in the stars or the planets, or angels watching from above.
But I believe there's a ghost of a chance, we can find someone to love. And make it last...
