74th & 73rd: Danny Van Zandt & Derek Haig
I know they both have their own separate storylines, but ultimately I find them to be most memorable as a pair rather than individuals.
Derek just sucks, he really offers nothing to the show other than basically an annoying and just genuinely not nice person. His only moment where is supposed to be interesting is when he is bullied by a teacher, however he is so busy being shitty and annoying that I struggle to really sympathize with him. After helping beat up a girl for just being a girl on the football team he also is last seen bringing a rope to school and telling Holly J to basically kill herself……He will not be missed
Danny is a little better and actually has more of an existence, but in all reality I just don’t care or connect with him at all as a character. After being friends with someone who is a terrible person and also confirming himself to be sexist garbage he fills other roles as just a character to drop in. Need someone to be a younger sibling? Danny is here. Need someone to drop into your band? Danny is here. He was honestly not good enough for the iconic Chantay and could have allegedly even been endgame with her since they never mention a breakup for the pair.
