I never said meth should be used recreationally, I said the war on drugs which you claim to support has had adverse affects on SAFE substances like Cannabis and Psilocybin.

Speaking of recreational substances, put the hydro peroxide down. It's bleached the fuck out of your hair and your brain.

It's fucked that alcohol is legal when you see all these other drugs being illegal.

I think all drugs should be legal, however, we do treat alcohol like it's an acceptable drug meanwhile it's pretty dangerous.

BBChristian you must live in a very rural area if you believe all drugs should be legal 馃拃 the crimes that come with it would definitely *not* be okay with you, if it was at your doorstep. Please be serious. Drugs should not even be decriminalized until we get a better jail to rehab pipeline, and mental health support. Otherwise jail is better than nothing for them!

amixoxi at least i use it on my body and dont pour it down my throat like you do 馃き馃 i know your friends hide the mouthwash & lock the bathroom cabinet when you come over

amixoxi also many people dont include weed/mushrooms in with dangerous substances. Many places have decriminalized or legalized cannabis. And if you live in some inbred, rural part of the world where its still illegal: then you have my prayers but thats not my fucking problem. Thats yours baby.

BenjaminB Sorry I was too simplistic with my wording. I guess what I really meant was that I don't believe doing drugs makes you a criminal. I don't think jail sentences solve your problem. I absolutely agree that drugs lead to crime. I believe in rehabilitation not punishment. Drug users have a mental health issue.

thats definitely NOT a cannabis map 馃ぃ unless its from 2001. I know that much! amixoxi Keep thinking we should let the cartels murder people & bring fentanyl into our neighborhoods though, you're so smart sweetie 馃挌 Where did you get your political science degree from? PsychologyToday university? Shut the fuck up

BBChristian and i absolutely support strengthening rehab/mental health programs. But until then: locking them up is better than leaving them on the streets to kill someone. I do think being an addict makes you a bad person, usually because they make it everyone else's problem. You can destroy your life, but dont destroy the world of others.

Theoretically, if they are solely doing drugs and not hurting anyone around them (which includes disturbing the peace), I don't understand why they should be locked up for making the choice to ruin their own lives.

Prison is not a deterrent. If you want to do drugs then you will do drugs.

The black market will ALWAYS exist. Nothing you can do about that.

The problem here is that I don't really have the cut and dry opinion that I thought I had. Because as I think about it right now I completely understand where you're coming from, however the idea of locking someone up for a choice they are making to their own body seems odd.

Then again, doing these drugs does increase your likelihood of committing horrendous crimes, so with that in the mix, I suppose I agree with you.

BBChristian I see your point as well. I think theres definitely a middle ground that needs to be found somewhere. Theoretically: if people addicted to drugs werent causing problems most of the time, i also would say let them ruin their own bodies. I also dont think jail is the place for addicts. And we need to expand rehab/mental health therapy. But i will say that at least in jail: they are supervised and not doing drugs in there. It probably wont be enough time and support to fix their addiction: but at least they arent hurting themselves or others.
